Players that have displayed for years now that they are more than ready to step onto the college hardwood and show off all the hard work that they have put in over their lifetimes. Below I will be highlighting 5 players that have a real chance to play at the college level some day. Which college and where? All depends on the player and their individual situation.
Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!
Sara Harley Sara Harley 5’9″ | SG Millard North | 2025 State NE is a college level shooter but she does a lot more than just that. Harley stands at around 5’11 with a flamethrower for an arm from deep. A big key to her shot being that on the catch, she does not bring the ball down but instead will catch it at her face and just rise from there. It quickens up her release, giving her a better look at the basket on almost every attempt. Last season, Harley was one of the best shooters in the entire state at Millard North high school and I’m expecting much of the same this winter. If a defender ever jumps at Harley’s shot, she does a good job of noticing it and using that to her advantage, getting all the way into the teeth of the defense off of a dribble move instead, for an easier bucket or assist. Harley has some college offers already and I’m sure that list is going to grow tremendously over the next 6-8 months when college recruiters see how consistent she is shooting the ball. As for now though, she will keep head down and keep on working on her craft.
A player that was on the verge of making the Top 10 list in the rankings in this update, who is one hell of a basketball player is Kena Ailes Kena Ailes 6’0″ | PF Lincoln Christian | 2025 State NE . Ailes stands at 6’0 FT and is a dominate force in the paint. I really need to be able to see her more, live and up close, to assess her abilities a little better but from everything I have seen, she has a high motor and she works really hard for her size. She is versatile in her position where she can play the Post or she can move to more of a Forward role, depending what is being asked of her. Over the past two years Ails has put up productive numbers at the high school level, I’m expecting nothing less this upcoming season as she continues to grind in attempts to play at the next level some day.
Reese Murtaugh is a college level basketball player and you can’t tell me otherwise. Murtaugh is a quick and smart point guard that can really do it all at her position. She passes well off of the dribble with either hand, she can score from all three levels in the blink of an eye, she is VERY good at change of pace and direction when attacking her defenders in the open court, she rebounds over alike size players, and she can pick up in the full court and stay with her opponent for an entire contest. Murtaugh was also in the debate of being in the 2025 Class – Top 10, in this Update. If she has a productive start to the upcoming high school season, she will break onto that list at the next Update in December, no doubt about it.
Highlights
Myleigh Weers Myleigh Weers 5’9″ | PG Diller-Odell | 2025 State NE is a player that will play college basketball for a program out there someday if she stays dedicated. Weers is a pure scorer. A player that knows how to get a bucket in every conceivable way possible. You can tell that just by her numbers that she has put up on the high school floor the past few years, being a leading scorer out of this 2025 class throughout the entire state. For Weers to see the court at the next level and for her to be successful on that court is all about fit. If she can find the correct fit, in the correct program, she will blossom and dominate her competition. I know that is very general to say because this applies to basically everyone but in some players situations, it’s extra important. System can be everything and when you give a great player, the correct system to function in, great things can happen. I could see that happening with Weers.
Amelia Dieckman Amelia Dieckman 6’1″ | PF Concordia | 2025 State NE has length and some skill to go along with that on the basketball court. This winter is going to tell me a lot about where she could play at the next level when her high school career comes to a close. Dieckman stands at around 6’1 with LENGTH. She has a high motor and that results in a lot of rebounds and buckets for herself near the rim. Like I said, this winter is going to tell me a lot about her game and where she can take it but as for right now, she has created a great foundation for herself moving forward from everything I have seen up until this point. She just needs to work on the correct things moving forward and push through when situations get tough. Something’s that are more than possible.
