Last week we came out with a piece on prospects breaking milestones at the varsity level. Following that piece, it seems like Millard North has had some players consistently break school records. One of the most recent being in this game, Sara Harley Sara Harley 5'9" | SG Millard North | 2025 State NE , who broke the school’s all time 3 point makes record. This is a big accomplishment for Harley. She is a college commit for a reason and this ability is just one of those main reasons. She can shoot the leather off of the basketball and she always has been since she she gotten into high school. Millard North is not done yet. They are going to be a tough out come Playoff time. If Harley keeps on knocking down big buckets and everyone else follow suit, who knows how far they might push things.

I have seen a lot of impressive comebacks with my time on the floor, both as a coach and as a prospect. The most impressive I’ve seen so far this Winter occurred this Weekend when Millard North went on the road to compete against Quincy (IL) High School. The Mustangs ended up getting a 4 point victory in the end, 56-52, after an incredible 4th quarter. A 4th quarter where the Mustangs came out and beat Quincy, 17-2. After the final buzzer sounded, the MVP of the contest was SG – Sara Harley Sara Harley 5'9" | SG Millard North | 2025 State NE . Harley is a Concordia Women’s Basketball commit and one heck of a competitor. She is someone that is always ready to make the most of her opportunities, whatever they might be. Not only in this contest but this entire season, Harley has been consistent for her squad and that’s nice to see because that will translate to the next level. Consistency is key in most things in life. Basketball is no different and Harley understands that better than most for her age.

Millard North always brings an experienced product to the Varsity floor and I’m sure that will be the case once again this Winter. Their main producer from last season, that is going to be a big bucket getter and defensive stopper for the Mustangs for one more year is SG – Sara Harley Sara Harley 5'9" | SG Millard North | 2025 State NE . Harley lets the ball go in the blink of an eye, she possesses coordinated footwork, she understands where the open spots are on the offensive end a majority of the time, and she knows her role on her team. All of those things combined together make for a quality prospect. That’s what Harley is and always has been. Now it’s time for her to be confident and show everyone who’s watching, what’s up.

As of last week, Sara Harley Sara Harley 5'9" | SG Millard North | 2025 State NE , the #15 overall rated prospect out of the 2025 Class and #2 rated SG, is off the board with her commitment to Concordia University. Harley will join up with some other recent graduates from Nebraska High School’s from years past, in hopes of taking her game at a whole other level on the collegiate floor. As you might imagine, Harley is a knockdown shooter, that has the ability to handle under pressure, make the easy and open pass, and she can defend her position against alike sized prospects. You can only see the floor in college if you can defend your position. As long as Harley shows off that ability right away and she keeps her sweet shooting stroke from deep, I’m sure she will have her opportunities to flourish these next couple of years.

Sara Harley Sara Harley 5'9" | SG Millard North | 2025 State NE is the definition of a team basketball player. On both sides of the floor she gives her full effort on every possession and she doesn’t take plays off. On this specific squad, she is one of the taller prospects so she is in charge of defending the bigger players on the opposing team more times than not and she usually does a great job of holding her own. She does a great job of anticipating plays before they happen and she usually gets her hands on a ton of tips/deflections leading to steals in the open court. Don’t get me wrong, her offensive ability is impressive too as she can produce in crafty ways but she really stands out as an elite and stout defender, whenever she is lacing up her kicks.

Sara Harley Sara Harley 5'9" | SG Millard North | 2025 State NE and her Nebraska Supreme 17U team had a solid weekend in Iowa, where they went 3-1, only losing a game in overtime mostly due to foul trouble. Harley is a taller prospect on this roster and so she is asked to do a lot of different things throughout a contest for her squad. This weekend she was switching between guarding the biggest opponent on the opposing team to guarding the smaller opponents in switching situations. Other than her on-ball defense, her defensive awareness in general is impressive. She is someone that knows where her opponents want to go with the ball and she is very good at anticipating passes that those opponents are trying to make, leading to a bunch of tips, deflections, and steals throughout. Don’t get it twisted, offensively she is just as solid. She contributes any chance she gets on that side of the ball but she really thrives on defense and that was blatantly obvious this past weekend.

Millard North High School is stacked with talent when it comes to girls high school basketball. To give you an idea, they have several players who don’t see the floor too often because of how good their roster is, that would start at most other places throughout the state. This can be mentally draining and wear on a players mind but I think that this group does a great job of sticking together and competing. One of their main contributors to start this season is Sara Harley Sara Harley 5'9" | SG Millard North | 2025 State NE . I’ve had the chance to see Harley a handful of times prior to this high school season and each time she stood out. Wether it was scoring it from all over or getting stops on defense, whatever she was doing, she was succeeding. Looking forward, Harley has a bright future pertaining to basketball. She is someone that could come in and produce right away in the right college system.

Sara Harley Sara Harley 5'9" | SG Millard North | 2025 State NE is a college level shooter but she does a lot more than just that. Harley stands at around 5’11 with a flamethrower for an arm from deep. A big key to her shot being that on the catch, she does not bring the ball down but instead will catch it at her face and just rise from there. It quickens up her release, giving her a better look at the basket on almost every attempt. Last season, Harley was one of the best shooters in the entire state at Millard North high school and I’m expecting much of the same this winter. If a defender ever jumps at Harley’s shot, she does a good job of noticing it and using that to her advantage, getting all the way into the teeth of the defense off of a dribble move instead, for an easier bucket or assist. Harley has some college offers already and I’m sure that list is going to grow tremendously over the next 6-8 months when college recruiters see how consistent she is shooting the ball. As for now though, she will keep head down and keep on working on her craft.
