We’re going to give you 5 2026’s that are great examples of the many players that we’d like to see at the event.
Whenever Wayne Memorial has a talented guard, we want to see them play. Coach Mitchell has a proven track record of developing players, especially guards, at a high level. Cross has the ball skills and the scoring acumen to fit right in to that lineage. She could make a major statement at the City Slam.
Fields would be a perfect fit for the City Salam event. She is always in attack mode and is very comfortable playing in a physical game. Fields can draw contact on the drive and finish at the rim through it. She’s strong with the ball in her hands and can pull up for a jumper on a dime.
Watt has shown steady and notable improvement since she hit high school. The City Slam Pick-Up Ball Championships would be a great place to put that on display and get some more credit for her work. Watt is strong and physical and has the ability to play solid vertical defense.
Yancura is definitely a player to keep your eyes on as her high school career continues to unfold. She could sent a message loud and clear about her game at this event. Yancura is a solid shooter off the catch. She snags it cleanly and in rhythm. Yancura has some nice ball skills and positional versatility,
Reusser really drew some eyes to her game this summer playing with the Capitol City Express . She was a consistent scorer that recognized good shots and converted on them often. Reusser was steady with the ball, rarely turning it over during grassroots season. She could put scouts and coaches on notice at the event.
