Mariah made her presence felt with a productive performance across the board for Wayne Memorial at the West Michigan Hoop Summit. Mariah distributed crisp passes to open teammates on the perimeter and excellent touch passes into the post. She finished a layup off two feet and chased down offensive rebounds. Mariah knocked down a clutch straightaway three-pointer to give the Zebras a 47-40 lead with two minutes to go and converted two clutch free throws down the stretch to help secure the win. She put up seven points with five rebounds, a game-high eight assists, and four steals.

Mariah used her shifty crossover moves and explosiveness to win 1 on 1 matchups at the LBI Mitten Opening. She created a driving lane with a sudden crossover dribble and blew by for a straight line layup. Mariah buried a smooth straightaway triple off the bounce and added another from the wing. Her quickness, court vision, ball-handling abilities, defensive impact, and multidimensional scoring abilities give Wayne Memorial a clear advantage at the point guard spot.

Mariah looked great with 1 Nation Elite during the travel season and is a Miss Basketball candidate heading into her final season at Wayne Memorial. Her lightning quickness, aggressive defense, effectiveness as a facilitator, and three-level scoring abilities make her an exciting prospect to watch. Mariah is going to be the court general this season with the graduation of Bryant, and she’s more than capable of being the lead guard. After a state semifinal run last season, the Zebras have the talent and senior leadership needed to make it back. Mariah will continue her basketball career at Temple University following graduation.

Mariah is lightning-quick and has been a dynamic player again for Wayne Memorial this season. She’s excelled in multiple categories, averaging 17.7 points, 4.4 assists, 4.1 rebounds, and 3.2 steals per game. Mariah has earned three KLAA All-Conference awards and two All-Conference Select Team awards. She helped the Zebras to a 16-6 record and KLAA-East title, with statement wins against Belleville, Goodrich, Livonia Stevenson, and Howell. Mariah will continue her academic and athletic career at Temple University.

Cross might be one of the most improved players in the state. Her and Colleena Bryant Colleena Bryant 5'6" | PG Wayne Memorial | 2025 State MI will be one of the most thrilling backcourts in Michigan next season. Cross is lightning fast up the court, with or without the ball. She was a constant threat from behind the arc at the shootout, especially off the catch. Best part of her day though, was that she was a factor on both ends of the floor. Cross was a pesky perimeter defender that turned defense into offense on multiple occasions.

Mariah Cross Mariah Cross 5'3" | PG Wayne Memorial | 2026 State MI had an outstanding day at the SS16 Shootout for Wayne Memorial on Saturday. She drilled multiple corner 3’s, outraced defenders of transition layups, and elevated inside to finish off two in the paint. Mariah used her shifty handles and burst to blow by defenders off the dribble and score at the rim. She pressured ball handlers and created steals. Mariah was one of the most impressive guards at the tournament.
