They had two bigs who can dibble/pass/shoot and was filled with guards surrounding them who were shot ready. Spacing was great with team 3 especially when they went 5 out on offense. Furthermore, their motion offense created driving opportunities for the guards and simplified the game. This team understood each other’s strengths and didn’t try and do too much outside of their skill set.
Trinity Whitefeather Trinity Whitefeather 5’2″ | PG Sioux City West | 2027 IA is a knock down shooter. She shot the ball very consistently and loves the corner 3’s the most. Trinity is a smaller guard with a big heart as I watched her go after offensive rebounds countless posessions. Even when the defense secured the rebound, Trinity would try and sneak to steal the ball from behind. Once she got comfortable on the floor, she became more vocal and displayed leadership. Whitefeather has a lot to offer in this game and her niche is her shooting ability. Once the ball left her hands, you can tell it was a made shot. She had great rotation on the ball, release point was consistent, and follow through was strong and disciple.

Macie Vetter Macie Vetter 5’7″ | PG Lewis Central | 2027 IA understands the game and loves to play in transition. Her team would rebound and she would run lanes for transition layups. If she rebounded the ball, she’s pushing it down the middle looking ahead for her teammates or going coast to coast for a layup. Macie showed how well she can score on all three levels. If the close out was late on the catch, she would let it fly. If the close out was aggressive, putting the ball on the floor to attack gaps/driving lanes wasn’t an issue. She was one of the few I saw that didn’t force a shot and played her game. Being able to drive left and right while able to finish through contact was fun to watch. When her team needed a bucket, she wasn’t shy creating scoring opportunities.
Highlights
Kendra Boatman Kendra Boatman 5’7″ | SG Keokuk | 2026 State IA is another player who displayed a lot of control on both sides of the floor. Very disciple defensively, communicated well with her teammates and was a natural leader. In addition, she was very persistent on the defensive side and was locked in. She didn’t want anyone scoring on her and looked to take defense personal. Offensively shooting the ball was one of her biggest strengths. She has some range beyond the three point line that made her a threat all over the floor. Even though shooting was her biggest strength, she wasn’t shy about putting the ball on the floor to attack. She protected the ball on her drives and finished with confidence around the rim.
Audrey Kosky Audrey Kosky 6’1″ | PF Storm Lake | 2024 State IA was a 2024 player on this team and was someone her teammates fed off of. She forced the defense to come out and guard because she can shoot the three ball. Audrey has capabilities of mixing things up in the post and outside the three point line. Her understanding of the game showed tremendously and looked to exploit mismatches. Being able to guard multiple positions was beneficial for her and her team. She was a physical big and scrappy throughout the showcase. Her will to win and outperform opponents showed each game. My favorite thing from this player was her ability to read the floor on offense. Audrey understood how to move without the ball, what kind of cuts to make and how to make lead passes to teammates.

Hailey Kipp Hailey Kipp 6’0″ | PF Dunkerton | 2026 State IA was another go-to player on this team with good size as a big who also runs the floor. No doubt, she can shoot the ball from the mid range and the three point line. I was able to coach this team for one game and told her to work inside out. She found the game much easier by dominating in the post and then extending her game to display her shooting ability. Additionally, she found the game much more simple by taking advantage of her size and consistent finishing around the basket. By having good footwork and creating contact in the post, she was dominant inside. Hailey also pushed the ball herself from time to time in transition and made good lead passes. You could tell her confidence was through the roof and nobody was going to take that away from her. She was a next play player and built off of good possessions.
