They’ve got some unranked prospects in their rotation that are worth some attention heading into a new season. They were given an early exit in last year’s NCHSAA State Playoffs and return looking for vengeance with a new year on the horizon.
Keira Wilson
Keira Wilson
Keira Wilson is the first unranked prospect to get to know with Mountain Heritage. She’s a 6-foot-2 forward who produced 12.8 PPG, 7.7 RPG, 1.7 BPG and 1.5 SPG on 58 percent shooting from the field as a junior. She returns looking to finish her high school career with a bang in the painted area for the Lady Cougars.
Vega Deyton
Vega Deyton
Vega Deyton is another top returner for Mountain Heritage as an unsigned senior. She finished this past year with 9.4 PPG, 4.2 RPG, 2.5 APG and 1.4 SPG for the Lady Cougars. She led their squad this past season in 3-point field goal percentage with 41 percent, making 33 3-pointers in 2022-23. She also shot 42 percent from the field as a junior.
Ava Webb
Ava Webb
Ava Webb is an unsigned senior combo guard who averaged 8.0 PPG, 2.5 APG, 2.4 RPG and 2.1 SPG as a junior for Mountain Heritage this past season. She’s a scrappy two-way presence with the potential to grow in the backcourt this year. She led the squad in steals this past season and returns with potential to be their best defender in the backcourt in 2023-24.
Kaydence Kooles
Kaydence Kooles
Kaydence Kooles is a sizeable presence at 5-foot-10 at the forward spot set to emerge in the Mountain Heritage frontcourt. She’s another presence on the floor who can stretch her game to the perimeter with her ability to shoot the ball. She finished last year shooting 31 percent from deep while knocking down 20 3-pointers on the season. She’s a prospect with room to grow in the lineup this season.
Lilly Neill
Lilly Neill
Lilly Neill enters a pivotal point in her high school career as she enters junior year status on the varsity stage. She finished third on the team in scoring (8.4 PPG) and second in rebounds (7.3 RPG) while also putting up 3.0 SPG and 2.1 APG as a sophomore for Mountain Heritage in 2022-23. She’s due to turn a corner in their rotation with experience around her returing.
Cloey Morrow
Cloey Morrow
Cloey Morrow is another 2025 prospect who saw action with Mountain Heritage in 2022-23. She put up 3.6 PPG, 1.7 RPG and 1.2 APG as a reserve for them this past season and should play a bigger role off the bench in 2023-24.
