Zhen Craft Zhen Craft 6’2″ | SF Bishop McNamara | 2025 State MD may have been the best player I saw all day. The Fluidity Zhen has at her size is super impressive. I love what Zhen brings defensively with her length and mobility. She can guard multiple positions and is a real asset on that side of the floor. On offense, Zhen is the total package. She showed off her ball handling all day, pushing the tempo and getting to the rim. Zhen is an underrated passer, and it’s something that I was pleasantly surprised by. She was automatic from mid-range as well.
Highlights
Zoe Burruss
Zoe Burruss
Zoe Burruss is an entertaining player to watch. Zoe’s handles are fantastic, and she uses them to create good looks for herself. Zoe’s shot-making ability impressed me all day, and she hit a couple of really mean stepbacks. She knocked down other threes as a catch and shooter and looked confident all day shooting. Zoe does well in transition, and she is a great passer. She threw some fantastic outlet passes, which is an underrated ability.
Samia Snead Samia Snead 5’6″ | PG Osbourn Park | 2026 State VA brought energy to both sides of the ball. Her shot wasn’t falling early, so she put her head down and got to the rim. As the day wore on, Samia started getting hot from three and looked unstoppable. She was hitting stepbacks and knocked down threes in a plethora of ways. Her intensity on defense was what I loved. I love Samia’s game; she has a bright future on a talent-rich Osbourne Park squad.
Highlights
Savannah controlled the paint all day. She collected offensive rebounds and blocked multiple shots. She scored well in the paint and turned her offensive rebounds into points for herself. Savannah’s athletic ability allows her to be versatile on defense and play the 4 or 5. Savannah also knocked down several jump shots and was solid all day.
Sofia Caraus Sofia Caraus 5’9″ | SG Centreville | 2026 State VA had a terrific day offensively. She knocked down a bunch of threes and looked comfortable wherever she was. She’s a smart offensive player and picks her shots well. She rebounded well, too, and had a couple of nice takes. Centreville is loaded this year, and Sofia will play a part in them being one of the best teams in NOVA.
Amiyah would tell you that she missed many shots she usually makes early in the day. But truthfully, it didn’t matter to me because you can tell Amiyah is oozing with talent. Her ball handling and vision are sublime, and she had a lot of really nice passes. Amiyah created a lot of good looks for herself with her handle, and again, even when they weren’t falling, you could tell how natural everything came to her.
Azareya competed on defense all day. She has a great size and moves really well. Azareya is strong and a great athlete, and her pride on the ball’s defensive side makes her a terrific defender. She is a good driver and loves the physicality. Azareya’s mix of physical tools and skills is super impressive.
