I enjoy scouting events in this format because I get to see players that I don’t get to see play very often or have not seen at all. It’s a great way to get my eyes on the “hidden gems” and the ones who have improved since the last time I watched them compete.
Below I have highlighted the prospects that stood out to me during this event.
Highlights
Destiny Scott Destiny Scott 6'2" | C North Hardin | 2026 State KY looked very dominant throughout this event. This young lady stands around 6’2 with incredible length. Her versatility makes her a position-less type of player. She protects the rim, rebounds well, can make shots from 10-15 feet, scores off the dribble, and is very coachable. Huge upside with Scott.
Highlights
Gracie Sipes Gracie Sipes 5'7" | CG North Oldham | 2024 State KY played really well on Saturday. She was in constant attack mode on offense showing off some big time scoring ability. Sipes shot the lights out from three and did a good job getting to the rim when defenders would over play her. She plays with poise and has a lot of confidence in her game.
Kaia Peterson Kaia Peterson 5'9" | PF Scott | 2025 State KY was very impressive in game 2 when Team 5 matched up against Team 6. Peterson came out the gates hot scoring back to back buckets to start the game. She did a good job pushing the pace in transition going coast to coast to score. She has good athleticism, speed, and was consistent with her perimeter shooting.
Morgan Howell Morgan Howell 6'0" | C Bourbon County | 2025 State KY will be a steal for a college program in my opinion. She flies under the radar a bit but has the size and skills to play at the next level. She has a quiet demeanor but her game speaks for itself when she’s on the floor. Howell knows her strong suits and does what she is suppose to do, very disciplined player. She has great size, length and strong legs that allows her to jump and high point the ball when it comes off the rim. She did an outstanding job rebounding, scoring inside, and altering shots on defense.
I heard a lot about Nataya Strader Nataya Strader 5'3" | PG Madison Central | 2025 State KY during the high school season and throughout the AAU season playing for FTF Thunder. But seeing her play in-person for the first time left me convinced that she is the “real deal”. Strader is an elite scorer that puts up points in bunches. She was super effective on offense, constantly attacking the basket getting points inside finishing through contact at the rim. Strader is small in stature but is tough as nails and loves to compete. I see offers coming her way very soon.
