Who to watch at the PGH Freshman Showcase

A veritable Who’s Who from Minnesota’s Class of 2027. That’s what the Prep Girls Hoops Freshman Showcase will be this Sunday when a plethora of talented prospects will gather at Hopkins High School to show off what they’ve got. Many of the attendees are already a lock for the Prep Girls Hoops Freshman 50 rankings to be released in a couple of weeks. With nearly 120 players expected to compete, this is a great opportunity for others to show that they also deserve serious consideration for the first ranking of this year’s freshman class.
The Freshman Showcase starts at 9 a.m. with 12 teams competing. Each squad will play three games in front of Prep Girls Hoops scouts in the gym and college coaches online via BallerTV. Spectators are welcome and there is no charge to attend. Here are some of the top prospects to see on Sunday. They are listed in alphabetical order along with their team number.
- Alivia Bell Alivia Bell 5'7" | PG Winona | 2027 State MN – The crafty 5’7 guard from Winona is a gifted floor general with terrific skills and the ability to manage a game at a high level. An AAU All Star selection, you can see her next summer with the Minnesota Fury . (Team 2)
- Addison Bjorklund Addison Bjorklund 6'1" | PF Brainerd | 2027 State MN – The 6’1 forward from Brainerd is a varsity veteran with the size and length to dominate at both ends of the floor. Addy was an AAU All Star selection with Minnesota Stars Antl. (Team 2)
- Kaelyn Bjorklund Kaelyn Bjorklund 6'1" | PF Lakeville South | 2027 State MN – The 6’1 power forward with guard skills had a great summer with Minnesota Stars Antl. The Lakeville South freshman was chosen a 1st team All Star. (Team 1)
- Ava Cupito Ava Cupito 5'10" | CG Hopkins | 2027 State MN – The 5’10 guard can do it all. A two-year varsity veteran, Ava had an All Star AAU season with the Metro Stars . After starting at Minnehaha Academy, she’s now at Hopkins. (Team 7)
- Jazmin Daing Jazmin Daing 6'1" | CG Rochester JM | 2027 State MN – The 6’1 guard from Rochester John Marshall earned AAU All Star status for her play on the PGH Circuit with FBC North . She is one of the most gifted athletes in the Class of 2027. (Team 9)
- Morgan Mathiowetz Morgan Mathiowetz 5'6" | PG Sleepy Eye St. Mary's | 2027 State MN – One of the most highly-skilled guards in Minnesota’s freshman class, the 5’6 point guard from Sleepy-Eye St. Mary’s was a 1st team All Star with the Minnesota Rise. (Team 3)
- Emma Millerbernd Emma Millerbernd 5'9" | CG Providence Academy | 2027 State MN – Our 2023 high school Defensive Player of the Year, the 5’9 guard from the Class AA state champions Providence Academy and North Tartan is one of the most versatile players in the state. (Team 8)
- Amisha Ramlall Amisha Ramlall 5'11" | CG Rosemount | 2027 State MN – The 5’10 sharpshooter from Rosemount lit it up this summer with Minnesota Fury to win an AAU state championship. Amisha was chosen as our PGH Newcomer of the Year. (Team 10)
- Erma Walker Erma Walker 6'0" | PF Hopkins | 2027 State MN – The 6-foot forward from Hopkins is an established varsity veteran on one of the state’s best teams and is a uniquely gifted talent. She earned All Star status this summer with the Metro Stars . (Team 4)
- Pressley Watkins Pressley Watkins 6'0" | CG Benilde-St. Margaret's | 2027 State MN – The 5’11 guard is an elite athlete with the skills to match. After earning a berth on the AAU 1st All Star team, Pressley moves to Benilde-St. Margaret’s this year followed by Minnesota Fury next summer. (Team 6)
- Mya Wilson Mya Wilson 6'1" | CG Hill-Murray | 2027 State MN – The long, lean, super-smooth 6-foot guard from North Tartan can do amazing things on the basketball court which earned her our PGH 2027 Most Valuable Player award. Wilson is now at Hill-Murray. (Team 1)
