Thurmond is one of the top players in the 5th region and was the go to player for a Bethlehem team, that won the region championship and made a Sweet 16 state tournament appearance. She is a prolific scorer that put up 17.2PPG last season. This D1 soccer commit is fresh off of winning a 2023 KHSAA State Soccer Championship. She will be in peak condition to start the season and should make an immediate impact for the Banshees.
Smith was the 3rd leading scorer for North Oldham scoring 10PPG last season. She has a knack for putting the ball in the hoop. She operates well on the perimeter and does a good job getting to the basket for points at the rim. The Lady Mustangs have a nice duo in the backcourt with Sipes and Smith, they both will be relied on heavily this season.
Davis is a high energy player that gets after it on both ends. She is a tough defender that plays aggressive and comes up with steals that lead to fast break layups. Davis is also a good spot-up shooter from three with a nice left-hand shooting stroke. She averaged 5.1PPG last season, I see that average going way up this season.
Wright is a pass-first point guard with superb ball handling ability and court-vision. She thrives off of getting others involved and displays all the leadership qualities you want to see in a floor general. Wright will be a key contributor for Johnson Central as they look to make some noise in the 15th region this season.
Highlights
Bradley averaged 7.8PPG for Butler last season. She is a deadly shooter from deep that will make you pay for giving her an open look. Bradley is a pest on defense as well, she does a good job playing passing lanes to come up with deflections and steals. The Bearettes are returning all their players and should be much improved this season.
