SubscribeI saw several players I had already seen that are listed in the Top 100, I missed 3 of those listed below but guess what, I also saw some players that I’m adding to the Watch List from their various classes. The 2027 list will drop in a few days, Ma’Riyah Alfred (Beaumont Westbrook) left no doubt in my mind she is a National player, while several freshmen will be on the Watch List including

(Lake Creek) and A’Niyah Harmon (Klein Collins) but first, here ya go
Nickerson gave me a different look on what she brings to the table, yes, I know she’s explosive off the dribble, in the set as well as the open court, she showed that but she also did a good job of being a facilitator and getting her teammates involved yet also scoring in the flow. Her “on the ball” pressure was nice as she came away with steals as well as helping to force turnovers but she also played the passing lane
Pete had me saying “for Peete’s sake” for years as I spelled her last name incorrectly due to erroneous rosters yet I didn’t make an error about her game. Her poise under pressure in elementary school coupled with her skillset had me drop the #D1Lock and since she has offers on the table, right again. She smoothly fills up the stat sheet but her mid to long-range jumper as well as scoring off the dribble are pluses that keep getting better. I also enjoyed her hitting teammates in traffic from 20 feet away and her court vision in the set as well as handling the ball under pressure were very nice
Nixon had me writing “I cannot tell a lie” on what she brought to the table the first time I caught her on the court as she simply understands the game and how to control the tempo, you may want to Google that quote however pressure is irrelevant with this young lady as she handles it well and her decision making both in the club season as well as high school shows she can make the transition with ease on doing the same thing. Seeing the floor and dropping the jumper continues to be among her strong points but her defensive pressure was also solid
Hampton was one of the three players I didn’t get a chance to see at the event so see evaluation here
Vaughn was another player I didn’t have a chance to catch to see, those who I missed I will catch during the season but see evaluation here
Vega was added recently to the Top 100, her upside is scary and she too will be caught down the road but see evaluation here
Thompson is one of the most powerful guards not only in the Houston area, but the state. I enjoy watching her overpower smaller guards and score off the dribble, at times with players literally hanging on her, no CAP, yet to CAP it off, her body control plays a big part in that so when you factor in she attacks and finishes with either hand, what else. Well she can drop the mid to long-range in the set, the stop and pop in transition, she understands positioning to outrebound taller players and score on putbacks. She also applies “on the ball” pressure defensively and plays the passing lane
