It amazes me that no matter where you are from, the city, countryside, private school or public, this state is littered with talent. Yes it may look different in some parts of the state, but at the end of the day, ball is ball. If you can hoop, you are a part of a culture that speaks its own language.
This fall, we added to the class of ‘25 rankings. Yeah it was probably long overdue, but we’ve added some talented young ladies to the fold that we will definitely cover over the next couple of years. These young ladies bring a lot to the table, adding their ability to knock down clutch shots, contribute in multiple ways on the floor, and just play for the love of the game. Being a part of the women’s basketball scene here is great and these girls help uplift their squads in more ways than one.
Check out a few New Additions to the class of 25 rankings. These young ladies pack a big punch and will help propel their team to new heights.
Carsyn Swaney Carsyn Swaney 5'11" | PG Heritage | 2025 State TN (5’11/PG/Heritage)– Blessed with size, this young lady is a go-getter. Heady ball player who can facilitate an offense with the best of them. Doesn’t get rattled with the ball in her hands. She can shoot it from downtown, or get paint touches. She steps up on the defensive end, getting steals, loose balls, and deflections. Hard working kid who is going to be an impactful player for her ball club.
Love Howard Love Howard 5'9" | SG Bradley Central | 2025 State TN (5’9/ SG/ Bradley Central)- Consistent ball player who plays her role well. She may not get as much shine on a loaded Bradley Central team, but when she steps on the floor, she takes advantage of her opportunities. Has the ability to put the ball on the floor, either for a pull up or to get downhill to the rim. Has a sweet stroke, and won’t hesitate to unleash it from the arc. Gets after it on the defensive end, contributing by getting steals and on the boards. Awesome kid who makes the most of her opportunities.
Camden Ward Camden Ward 6'0" | PF Stewart's Creek | 2025 State TN (6’0/PF Stewart’s Creek)– Big time kid who can do all things. Bang in the paint, unleash her shot from the field, she’s an impressive big who can fill it up. She’s an enforcer on the defensive end, gaining rebounds, blocking shots by the boatload. She hustles, communicates, and claims residency in the painted area. Hard working kid whose stock is going to continue to go up. You will hear this name nightly as she will be a big factor for her ball club every time she steps on the floor.
Emma Smith Emma Smith 5'8" | SG Cleveland | 2025 State TN (5’8/G/ Cleveland)– a technician, Emma is a ball player who is skilled beyond measures. Does the little things right, precise and to a T. She’s a hooper who can create her own shot or come off screen, whichever way, the ball is going in. A multi-level scoring threat who is passionate about the game. She’s a hard worker who doesn’t take plays off. Will look to contribute to her ball club in any way. When her number is called, you better believe she will be ready. She may not get the headlines, but in due time this young lady will rise above. She’s an under the radar prospect that will have a breakthrough year plus attract the eyes of collegiate coaches. Phenomenal kid who brings her lunchpail to the hardwood nightly.
Ciara Thomas Ciara Thomas 6'2" | PF Trezvant | 2025 State TN (6’2/PF /Trezevant) – Blessed with great size, she’s an enforcer from the field. Can get after it on both ends of the floor. From grabbing boards to blocking shots, the defensive end is where she makes her money. Offensively, she can finish around the blocks too. Will step out and knock it down from the field. She will be an impactful kid for her ball club as they take the next steps towards capturing something bigger. Keep an eye on her has she continues to rise up the charts.
Malon Smith Malon Smith 5'6" | CG Clarksville | 2025 State TN (5’6/G/Clarksville)- Steady. It’s the one word that comes to mind when thinking of this young lady. Malon is a hooper who can score from anywhere on the floor. Yet, she doesn’t force the issue, dishing to squad members so they can eat. She hustles on the defensive end, causing chaos along the way. She’s a leader who can run a ball club effectively and efficiently. Had a tremendous summer and is off to a great high school start thus far. Look for her to continue on an upwards trajectory.
Kendall Anne Murphy (5’9/SF/Bearden)– Sharpshooting ball player who can fill it up from the arc. The kid plays with relentless energy, not only contributing on the offensive end, but getting after it on the defensive end as well. She has put time in the lab, and now the fruits of her labor are going to shine on the floor. KA is tough and she plays the game the right way. Consistent kid who will continue to rise up the charts. Look for her to contribute early and often to the success of her ball club this season. Skies are the limits for this prospect.
