While that is still the case, I have put together a list of a handful of competitors that will be considered for our Miss Iowa Basketball POTY. Each player is someone that is monumental in the success of their perspective team, while also being absolutely dominate in most facets of the game across the board.
Please note: This award, depending on who is giving it, usually only accounts for players competing during their Senior seasons. That will NOT be the case in this situation. Any player, from any grade level is fair game and has a chance to win.
Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!

Fierce. Impactful. Dedicated. Relentless. These are just some of the words used to describe Amani Jenkins Amani Jenkins 6'2" | C Johnston | 2025 State IA and her play-style on the basketball court. Jenkins, a 6’1 forward/center and Marquette women’s basketball commit, is a lengthy and agile competitor. She is a force to be reckoned with inside the paint and a difference maker overall on the hardwood for which-ever team she is lacing up with. Last high school season, Jenkins averaged a double-double with 20 PPG and 12 RPG. This winter she is looking have some of the same production. Her physical environment may have switched up but her play-style won’t and she is going to make that known. I’ve already mentioned a handful of players that will be in the running for this award but the #1 post player under consideration is definitely Jenkins. If she can go out and play some of the best, most consistent and efficient basketball of her career, she is going to not only be in this specific conversation but several different award conversations across the state, when this season finally comes to an end. She is an impact player and that will be on full display this winter.
