Continue ReadingThe season has tipped off and the 2025 Preseason Rankings just dropped. This year will be an epic year in the women’s basketball world across Tennessee. However, there are already some young ladies who are coming into the season on a high note. This past season and this summer, these young ladies put in that work. I’m talking about some game changers who caught the eyes of collegiate coaches as well as high school coaches within our borders.
I would like to take the time to highlight some young ladies whose stocks are blowing through the roof. They aren’t done yet, they are just beginning. They have the momentum behind them and will land somewhere at a big time program playing college hoops. Until then, we all need to enjoy their talent on the Tennessee hardwoods.
Check out these girls whose stocks are sizzlin.
Ellie Butler Ellie Butler 5'9" | SG Livingston Academy | 2025 State TN (5’10/SG/Livingston Academy)- Has eclipsed the 1000pt mark before her sophomore season was over. The girl is a bucket filler and she is the engine that makes her team go. Led her club to the state tournament, capping off an impressive year. She’s a multi-level scoring threat who can fill it up at a moment’s notice.Hard working kid who has a high ceiling. Look for her to contend for the Miss Tennessee basketball award plus many more at the end of the year.
Ava Krumweide (6 ‘1/SF/Harpeth Hall)– Talk about skyrocketing, this gym rat played with confidence and produced results throughout the high school and AAU season. She’s a true student athlete and has gained the attention from Ivy League college coaches plus more. Ava can shoot the 3 ball, or beat you around the paint. Her mid-range game is incredible, which enables her to strike from the arc and put it on the floor, or come down and pull it from the elbow. She contributes on the boards and can make timely assists as well. Look for her to continue to get better and receive more interest. Great prospect who has yet to reach her full potential.
Olivia Vinson Olivia Vinson 5'11" | SG Coffee Co. | 2025 State TN (5’10/SG/Coffee Co.)– This sharpshooting guard has committed to Lipscomb. She’s a downtown threat and can sink it with the best of them. Her ability to catch n’ shoot or come off screens is amazing. She’s consistent from deep, providing her ball club a spark when needed. Brings energy and enthusiasm to the floor every single time she touches it. Though she has committed, expect her to continue to get better and add more tools to her arsenal.
Zoey Rixter Zoey Rixter 6'1" | SG Bartlett | 2025 State TN (6’1/G/Bartlett)– Everyone is tuning in now. Zoey has received D1 offers and the boat keeps rolling them in. Smooth moving like the Mississippi River, Zoey is a big impact. She can defend like crazy, using her length to get steals, block shots, and grab boards. She can score from all over the field, but prefers to eat around the mid-range and block areas. She can handle the rock, create mismatches along the way. Her ability to create off the dribble plus dish to teammates is impressive. Great talent who will continue to get better.
Avary Brewer Avary Brewer 5'7" | PG Bradley Central | 2025 State TN (5’7/PG/Bradley Central)– A true floor general, her confidence and play keeps going up. The kid is a selfless leader who knows how to pick her spots. She can score it from all 3 levels, run the offense effectively and efficiently, and can defend. She plays the game with a passion and is a true champion both on and off the floor. She has put that offseason work in, displaying a true desire to be great in this game. She is an exceptional talent who is a go-getter for her ball club. Look for her to continue on an upwards trajectory and attract more eyes of big time collegiate coaches.
Jayda Bernard Jayda Bernard 6'1" | C Stewart's Creek | 2025 State TN (6’1/C/ Stewart’s Creek)– She’s starting to come into her own and she’s bring a sledgehammer with her. Jayda can no doubt bang in the paint, finishing against contact and knocking down elbow and short corner shots on a consistent basis. She can also unleash a 3, enjoying the pick n’pop action, enabling her to release it from the arc. She’s big on the boards, blocks shots, and brings the energy to the floor nightly. Her stock is in an upward trend and look for her to be a big time prospect before it is all said and done.
Ella Ryan Ella Ryan 5'10" | PG Brentwood | 2025 State TN (5’10/G/Brentwood)– She can do all things. Tough kid who can score it in so many ways. From creating her own shot off the dribble, receiving picks and shooting off them, spotting up, beating you around the rim, let’s just say the old adage “ if there is a will, there is a way,” and Ella certainly knows the way. The kid is a gym rat, putting in countless hours daily. What I love about her game is the fact that she is always trying to be better than the day before. She’s a heady ball player and has countless counter moves if you try to stop her. She competes, a great two way player who doesn’t take a play off. She gained a lot of interest from college coaches and the train hasn’t stopped yet. Look for her to break records, plus receiving even more attention by the time her HS career is done. Great prospect with tremendous upside.
