In the sport of basketball, one thing that stands out over everything else is someone’s production. In this case, we are talking about the production of Adyson Mlnarik Adyson Mlnarik 5’8″ | PG Summerland | 2024 State NE so far this season. Mlnarik has started off her Senior season on a fire. Throughout her team’s first 8 games, she is averaging 26 PPG on 45% shooting. She is doing this while her team currently sits at 7-1, as they have doubled up each opponent they have played so far this season. If you want to talk about a player leading her team at a high rate and because of that, her team is winning by big margins, look no further than Mlnarik. I’m not sure what her future may hold as we look toward the collegiate level but I do know that she is a multiple sport athlete, that is always excelling in everything she does so I wouldn’t be surprised if she had options at the end of the day but we will see.
Highlights
Jesani Green Jesani Green 6’0″ | C Omaha Benson | 2024 State NE is a premier player throughout the state of Nebraska, regardless of Class. Green would be considered a combo-post player in my opinion. She can move like a guard and has some really nice skill with the ball in her hands but she also has a superior mixture of size/strength. When you see Green perform first hand, it’s quite eye-opening. To start off her Senior season, Green is averaging just over 11 PPG and just over 12 PPG for her Benson High School team. Pretty nice numbers considering her team is playing well to start this year and they have one of the smallest rosters in the state, personal-wise. Green’s future on the hardwood is promising. If someone gives her a chance, she could produce in the correct system. No doubt about it.
Beatrice High School has been one of the best team in their perspective class this season so far and I hope they can ride that momentum coming out of break. A big reason for their success is Guard and college commit, Addison Hatcliff Addison Hatcliff 5’7″ | CG Beatrice | 2024 State NE . Hatcliff is a diverse guard that can play either the point guard or shooting guard spot for her teams. All things considering, she isn’t the tallest on the floor and has a smooth ability to create off of the dribble so I would think in college that she will just compete at the 1 spot but we will have to wait and see. As for this season, Hatcliff’s team is 6-1 with an important win coming against Malcolm High School, a team that features the best player at the 2026 grade-level in the state in Halle Dolliver Halle Dolliver 5’10” | CG Malcolm | 2026 State NE . When the State conversation comes up again in a month or so, Beatrice will be in it. At this rate, they are going to be a top team in their Class all year long and deserving so.
Pius X High School has had an interesting start to their season so far but they are excited to come out of break and show everyone that they are the real deal moving forward. Pius, who has several skilled players, has already demonstrated this season that they can win meaningful games, both at home and on the road. One of their best and more-so, most consistent competitors has been Small Forward, Sara Iburg. Iburg, throughout their first few games, is putting up 8.4 PPG, 4.8 RPG, and 2.6 APG. She is holding her own on both sides of the floor and being a pillar her team can lean on throughout the duration of a contest. In this update, Iburg moves into the #35 spot in this 2024 Class. If she continues to keep killing it, at the next Update she is going to be happy with her progress.
Madison Abbenhaus Madison Abbenhaus 5’5″ | PG Bloomfield | 2024 State NE ‘s numbers have been through the roof this winter going into break. Abbenhaus is averaging 25 PPG and helping lead her team to an overall 3-5 record. Obviously the record isn’t the best to start their year but they are going to regroup during this next week and make things happen afterward. As for the play of Abbenhaus, she is putting up promising numbers. Her skill speaks for itself at the guard position as she seems to be the leading scorer/player in most contests she competes in. If everyone can do their job moving forward then they are going to win a lot more games this winter. They have the personal and skill to make some noise come playoff time, depending on their matchup. They just need to worry about going 1-0 each game right now and everything will work itself out in the end.
