Continue ReadingThe Scott Lady Eagles are off to a terrific start this season posting a record of 10-2. Freshman forward Kourtney Peterson Kourtney Peterson 5’11” | PF Scott | 2027 State KY is playing at a high level averaging 9.5 PPG and leads the team in rebounds collecting almost 7 per game. Peterson has been on a tear in recent weeks, and just before Christmas break she put on a great performance at the Clark’s Pump N Shop Swishmas Tournament in the first game against Tates Creek scoring a team-high 20 points and pulled down 4 rebounds. She also had 16 points and 5 rebounds at the 4 Bank Winter Classic, helping her team get the victory over Mercer County 80-59. This team is well-coached and playing good basketball, with her effort on the glass and ability to make an impact on offense and defense I see the this team winning the the 37th district and making a run at a 10th region championship.
Hogancamp is putting up impressive numbers for Carlisle County this season. She is the second leading scorer putting up 14.3 PPG while leading the team in rebounds with 9.9 a game. Hogancamp displays excellent footwork on the low block and scores at a high percentage at the rim, She is also a tremendous rebounder that provides a ton of second chance scoring opportunities for her team. She is making her claim as one of the top centers in the 2027 class and I am excited to see her progression over the next 4 years.
Macey Brown Macey Brown 5’11” | C Owsley County | 2027 State KY is a special freshman center playing for Owsley County High School. Brown has impressive size, she also has light feet, and runs the floor well. So far this season she is getting 14.3 PPG and securing a team-leading 11.3 RPG. Brown is a high volume rebounder that can score at will around the rim. Her ability to dominate the paint will be vital to the Lady Owls success going forward.
Benningfield is having a solid freshman season for Taylor County. She is making a major impact on offense with her ability to score from the inside out. Benningfield leads the team in scoring with 9.6 PPG, while shooting 32.4% from three and 75% from the free throw line. I expect her number to continue to increase throughout the season.
