Wallace had a terrific fall and was lights out specifically at the City Slam. I remember telling her that day that she looked like a D1 shooter. Thanks for making me look smart Taylor because that’s the look she had yesterday in her team’s win against South Lake. Wallace showed why she’s probably one of the best pure shooters in the state this season.
Utomi was dominant in the Arbor Prep victory against South Lake. In fact, she was dominant on both ends of the floor. Yeah she scored, rebounded and hit teammates with some pretty passes, but it was her defense that ruled the day. Defensively, Utomi was athletic, energetic and played with a high IQ all game long.
The numbers might not be there in this game, but the talent was definitely more than evident. The team couldn’t really get into their offensive sets so the points were tough to come by. But on the other end of the floor, the rebounding and rim protection were there. McClain challenged opponents in the lane and sent a lot of shots back.
Blumberg was terrific in Dexter’s win against Saginaw Heritage. She shot the ball very well, hitting a few triples in the game and shooting from everywhere at a high percentage. Blumberg rebounded incredibly well, tracking the ball off the rim from the perimeter. She got the job done on the defensive end showing good vision and quick hands.
Ringley was excellent in her team’s game against Dexter. She is just very tough to slow off the wing. I liked the way that Ringley could attack both off the bounce and with her movement off the ball. She’s an underrated defender and I liked when she let her defense initiate her offense.
