The early game featured an audience of news reporters and college coaches to watch one of Michigan’s best 2027 prospects, Mia McGregor Mia McGregor 5'9" | SG Mio AuSable | 2027 State MI , take on the Milford Mavericks. After that wild finish, Lake Fenton and Hamady squared off in another back-and-forth battle. Here are the prospects who stood out during the games on Saturday.
Mia McGregor Mia McGregor 5’9″ | SG Mio AuSable | 2027 State MI made one of the best plays you will ever see to end a basketball game on Saturday at the Michigan Hardwood Classic. With 15 seconds left, Mia dribbled sideline to sideline avoiding defenders, then retreat dribbled behind a screen to deliver a heart stopping wing 3 from outside the MHSAA logo just inside the boundary with 1.7 seconds left. Mia was double teamed the entire game, but still found a way to score 31 points with all 14 for Mio in the 4th. She uses inside out, pushouts, and low crossover dribbles to split defenders and get to the rim. What impressed me about her game was how she can dribble full speed in transition, but pause/hesitate to move the defender out of position as she handles the ball. Mia blocked shots, rebounded, and did everything possible to earn a win for her Mighty Bolts; she is a top three 2027 prospect in the state of Michigan.

Maddie Stevens (2024) showed Saturday why she will be playing basketball at the next level for the Alma Scots. She played a complete game for the Mavericks, getting the job done on the boards, steals, blocks, assists, and scoring. Maddie drove hard and downhill with both hands to keep the Mavericks in position to win the whole game. She makes the hustle plays to save loose balls going out of bounds, scores on back cuts to the basket, and finishes well at the rim. Maddie played her best basketball at the Michigan Hardwood Classic in a 16 point performance.
Savannah Fellenbaum put together a complete performance to help the Blue Devils earn a victory Saturday at the Michigan Hardwood Classic. She hit multiple 3’s, scored inside against physical defenders, and protected the paint by blocking shots. She finishes with both hands, handles the ball very well, and has a game that should result in her being an effective wing at the next level.
Highlights
Parker Beardsley Parker Beardsley 5’8″ | SF Lake Fenton | 2025 State MI stepped up in all phases Saturday at the Michigan Hardwood Classic for Lake Fenton. She hit a deep wing 3, finished strong off of two in the paint, and finished full speed layups in transition. Parker put up 12 points with 5 rebounds and is a lengthy, multiple scoring wing who will continue to be an intriguing 2025 prospect for coaches.
Madisyn Aldridge Madisyn Aldridge 5’5″ | CG Flint Hamady | 2027 State MI was the spark Hamady needed Saturday at the Michigan Hardwood Classic. She provided offense in spurts for her team, hitting a pull up jumper in transition, finishing an outstanding drive into contact, floaters, transition baskets, and a wing 3. Madisyn picked her opponent’s pocket with her quick hands on the ball, and made great passes for assists on her drives. Madisyn ended the game with 16 points, 4 boards, 6 assists, and 4 steals. She is an energetic PG who loves basketball and is fun to watch whenever she touches the floor.
Highlights
Skylar Lewis
Skylar Lewis
Skylar Lewis (2025) was an athletic guard who provided offense for Hamady against a difficult opponent. She finished the game with 15 points, showing an impressive vertical leap to finish contested shots inside. She hit floaters, finished contested drives, and hit mid-range jumpers. Skylar impressed me because of her outstanding effort to pursue the basketball all over the court; she chased down a ball going out of bounds. Her athleticism to elevate for offensive/defensive rebounds was also impressive. Keep this one on your radar.
Jayla Evans Jayla Evans 5’8″ | PF Flint Hamady | 2024 State MI (2024) is a strong forward for Hamady who does all of the work that helps her team be successful. She is a relentless rebounder on both ends, putting up a game high 12 rebounds. Her positioning for rebounds also resulted in her adding 6 points and she is an inside player who could be a good target for JUCO/D3 teams still looking for 2024 recruits.
