Expert Analysis

Madisyn was a top ten Michigan prospect when she played at Flint Hamady and I’m excited to see her back in the Mitten for the PGH MI College Tour III. She’s a bulldog on defense. Her quick lateral feet, compact build, athleticism, toughness, and disruptive pressure stress out opposing guards. Madisyn is an excellent facilitator who slashes to the rim with a burst and scores through contact. All-Tournament First Team at the PGH Great Lakes Kickoff and will be an elite point guard to watch this weekend with MBA GUAA 17U.

Makes good decisions with the ball, excellent passer with court vision. She seemed to get better and better as the game went on. Knocked down a big three to give her team the advantage in the first half. Mega talented kid!

Madisyn was an effective floor general for Michigan Crossover EYCL 16U at April Showers on Saturday. She made extra passes from the corner to open teammates and fired long passes up the court to teammates. Madisyn created turnovers with her defensive pressure and hit the deck to wrestle for 50/50 balls. She energized the team by taking a charge on defense, buried a straightaway 3, and attacked downhill with a burst to score layups.

Madisyn dominated at the Freshman Showcase a year ago and she made a huge impact on both sides of the ball once again at The Expo for Team 8 on Saturday. Madisyn showed her toughness by sliding in front of a drive to take a charge. She swiped many steals guarding the ball to score transition layups and split defenders with a low crossover dribble to score a contested layup. Madisyn made an excellent entry pass off a screen to her rolling teammate for an assist and caused problems for the defense by hitting multiple 3s off of perimeter screens.

Madisyn was one of the best performers in the gym at the Freshman Showcase last year, creating many steals, scoring transition layups, and knocking down shots off the dribble. She has shifty ball-handling moves and quickness that stands out on the court. Madisyn is a prospect I’ve seen excel at showcases the past year and I expect her to have another strong performance at The Expo on Saturday.

Madisyn put her athleticism and dynamic offensive game on display at the R4TR Championship against some tough competition. She extended her shooting range to bury a wing 3, used a pushout dribble hesitation combo-dribble to blow by her defender for a layup, and a swim move over the defender’s arm to score a contested layup off two in the paint. Her toughness to finish and burst off the dribble is difficult for defenders to contain.

She provided offense in spurts for her team, hitting a pull up jumper in transition, finishing an outstanding drive into contact, floaters, transition baskets, and a wing 3. Madisyn picked her opponent’s pocket with her quick hands on the ball, and made great passes for assists on her drives. Madisyn ended the game with 16 points, 4 boards, 6 assists, and 4 steals.
