Mystics 17U P24 left nothing to chance in the Diamond Championship Game. They jumped out to a huge lead early and never looked back. Mia was most effective at slashing to the rim, getting the advantage in front of the rim, creating driving lanes with her quick dribble combo moves/jabs, outmuscling defenders inside, and finishing. She absorbed contact on a drive to score a strong and-one layup with a soft touch high off the window, then completed the three-point play at the line. Mia finished with her left on a drive-by, sealed a defender after a cut, caught the lob entry with good hands, then scored with her left off two feet. She converted free throws at the line after drawing a foul on a drive, swiped the ball away on defense for another lefty finish, and went by again for another layup. Mia showed she has no problem going left and using that hand to score consistently in traffic. She led the squad in scoring and received Diamond Championship Game MVP honors.

It did not take long to see what all the fuss was about watching Mia play against YKS in the second half. She was in total control with the ball in her hands creating plays for herself and facilitating for her teammates. McGregor is a big, strong player who knows where the weight room is and knows how to use her strength. Defenders were bouncing off of her when she drove to the basket, including one play Mia flashed a quick combination of moves with her dribble before showing excellent footwork coming to a jump stop before finishing smoothly with her left hand on a contested layup. McGregor also drew fouls getting to the rim and shot the ball well from the free throw line. She showed a lot of confidence with her ability to handle the ball with heavy man to man pressure in the back court and initiating the offense. On the other end she was able to apply the same tight on ball pressure she faced herself. Mia earned three Division One offers in 24 hours with her play in Ohio (Penn, Northwestern, and Bowling Green) and the ever-growing list will only continue to grow with stellar play.

Mia made a comprehensive impact for Mystics P24 17U on day one of the PGH MI College Tour. She split defenders to score a layup and finished through contact, then completed the three-point play at the line. Mia created steals on the defensive end and facilitated the ball effectively to open teammates for assists. She created a driving lane with an inside-out move, put her defender in jail with a hostage dribble, and bullied the defender with a strong drive through contact for the two-foot finish. Mia used great pivots to score a contested layup in traffic, drilled a slot three, and buried a smooth step-back triple off a step back. She protected the ball against a trap in the post using aggressive rips, then scored a tough layup with her left. Mia scored layups comfortably using either hand after beating defenders off the dribble and knocked down free throws efficiently at the line.

Mia broke her sophomore record of 41.2 points per game and became the first player in MHSAA history (boys or girls) to score 1,000 points in a season this year with 1,071. Mia also averaged 14.3 rebounds, seven assists, and 6.4 blocks per game. She won PGH x Foster Swift Sports Player of the Week for Jan. 18th-24th, becoming the 35th player in MHSAA history to pass 2,000 points, while putting up her 4th and 5th career 50-point games in the process. Mia led Mio to an 18-4 record (11-1 conference), North Star League-Little Dipper Co-Championship, and a District title after a 74-54 win over Hale. She is set to become the state’s second 3,000-point scorer and new career scoring leader as a senior.

Mia has proven to be a relentless scorer, capable of filling it up against any type of coverage thrown her way. Her shooting touch from deep stands out, as she comfortably extends her range well beyond the arc and connects with consistency. Even when defenses key in on her, face-guarding or sending extra help, she continues to find ways to put the ball in the basket. Mia’s confidence, shot-making ability, and knack for scoring in tough situations make her one of the most dangerous offensive threats on the floor.

Mia has firmly established herself as one of Michigan’s most dominant players, regardless of division, and it’s easy to see why she’s been named Division 4 Player of the Year for two straight seasons. The 5-foot-9 guard is an elite scorer with a deep bag of offensive moves—whether it’s pulling up from range, attacking off the dribble, or finishing through contact at the rim. Despite being the focus of every opponent’s game plan and often seeing double- and even triple-teams, she continues to put up staggering numbers, averaging 39 points, 12.4 rebounds, five assists, 4.6 steals, and 3.5 blocks per game last season. Mia scored over 40 points in 10 different contests and has already surpassed 1,600 career points heading into her junior year. Her ability to take over games in multiple ways makes her one of the most unstoppable forces in the state.

Mia is back with the Mystics, and she had a great showing for the 2027-P24 team at Get Ready. Everyone knows Mia can score. After two seasons, Mia is already Mio’s leading scorer with over 1,600 points–claiming back-to-back D4 Player of the Year awards. Mia proved she could create shots for her highly skilled teammates on Saturday. She penetrated gaps and kicked the ball out to open teammates on the perimeter. Mia beat two trapping defenders with her left, forced the help to commit to her drive, then dished a no-look bounce pass to a teammate for an easy layup. Her strong and balanced stance makes her very effective finishing through contact. Mia converted several contested layups comfortably with both hands and was a ball hawk on defense. She pushed the ball with pace to score runouts and used excellent footwork to finish a step-through layup with her left hand after driving into a jump stop.
