As you all know, the 2027 class is new to the high school ranks. I must say, there are some big impact players who will see significant minutes this year as well as young hoopers who will go on and make a lot of noise throughout their high school career. Though it's way too early to tell where a lot of these girls will end up, just know this particular class is a special one that will help tip the scales in their prospective school's favor. I have used the term battle tested in previous articles, and that is to state the fact that these girls are true ball players who spend a lot of time on the AAU circuit. They just don't do this as a choice, it's a part of their DNA of who they are or want to become. You all are pretty familiar with some of the studs or top dawgs in the class. Take a look at some of the young ladies who will star in their role, but are just now getting their feet wet.

[player_tooltip player_id='821816' first='Preslee' last='Chapman'] (5'7/SG/ Campbell Co.)- Solid kid who plays hard on both ends of the floor. She gets after it, being active with both her hands and feet. Anticipates well, jumping passing lanes and clogging areas up. Offensively she can score it by putting the ball on the floor or spotting up in the corner. Solid kid who will be growing in her game with the more court time she gets. Look for her contribution to come both on the defensive end and in the scoring column as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='821760' first='Izzy' last='Smith'] (5'8/G/ Cleveland)- She will get minutes here and there but note that her contribution will come from the perimeter and the defensive end. Izzy is a great shooter who is a gym rat. She is always ready to contribute when her number is called. The kid can fill it up, but will look to slowly grow into her role for the Lady Raiders. Her squad is talented and when she does see the court, she takes advantage of the opportunity doing everything she can. She is an exciting kid to watch and when her time comes, know that she is going to be ready to take on all challengers.

[player_tooltip player_id='821986' first='Caydence' last='Thomas'] (5'6/F/ Rockvale)- This kid plays with a motor and she exploits opponents by using her speed to her advantage. Offensively, she stars in the mid-range game. She will step out on the perimeter or go get a bucket with a paint touch, but know her game is the middy. She is active on D, get steals, deflections, and loose balls. She contributes on the boards and hustles her tail off. Solid prospect who will continue to grow.

[player_tooltip player_id='821870' first='Blake' last='Maple'] (5'8/G/ Lipscomb Academy)- Solid kid who just competes. She can handle the ball, shoot from multiple spots on the floor, sit down and defend, and go get a board when needed. She is fundamentally sound, doing the little things such as boxing out, stretching the floor on offense, making timely passes, and going after loose balls. Her role fluctuates based on the opponent, but she is getting valuable minutes. She is gaining confidence from her experience and isn't afraid to get in and compete. She is a solid kid with a bright future.

[player_tooltip player_id='818215' first='Danae' last='Kennedy'] (6'0/G/ FACS)- Has great size and speed, this kid is going to be a beast. Once it all comes together, she is going to be a force to be reckoned with. She can shoot it from multiple spots on the floor, but utilizing her length to create havoc is something she does. Offensively, she can get paint touches, finish at the rim, shoot with confidence from all over. Defensively, she's going to lock you up, block shots, get on the boards, and start transition breaks. Great kid who has a tremendous upside.
