Sectional #13 could be "sneaky good" in 2023-2024, as there are several teams here who have the potential to post winning records. Center Grove has shown the ability to compete on a statewide level, and they have the tools to make a deep run in the state tournament. The graduations of Ella Hobson (6.2p, 2.1r, 3.7a), Savanna Bischoff (5.4p, 3.0r, 2.7a), Ali Wiesmann (3.1p, 2.1r), Lindsey Walker (1.7p), and Aina Williams (1.1p) will certainly affect their depth. However, the Trojans still return four of their top five scorers; they will just have to play a smaller rotation in 2023-2024. 5-9 Senior wing [player_tooltip player_id='264111' first='Audrey' last='Annee'] (13.0p, 2.4r) is the leading returning scorer, and she is a high-motor kid with a nice jump-shot. 5-8 Senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='177311' first='Aubrie' last='Booker'] (6.8p, 3.1r, 2.4a) is as well-rounded and versatile of a guard as there is in Indiana's 2024 class. 5-8 Junior guard [player_tooltip player_id='295755' first='Lilly' last='Bischoff'] (6.4p, 3.0r, 2.1a) is a skillful and high IQ point guard, while 6-3 Senior post [player_tooltip player_id='201884' first='Rachel' last='Wirts'] (6.2p, 5.1r) adds nice size, skill, and ability inside. 5-7 Junior guard [player_tooltip player_id='506025' first='Ava' last='Grant'] had a strong Spring & Summer and could slide into that fifth starter role. She can play on or off the ball. 6-1 Junior post [player_tooltip player_id='692242' first='Emerson' last='Vlcan'] has gotten stronger and adds height up front. 5-4 Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='486507' first='Hannah' last='Gin'] and 5-5 Freshman [player_tooltip player_id='834961' first='MacKenzie' last='Pierce'] add ball-handling and backcourt stability. After a Semi-State run in 2022, Mooresville played just one Senior last season, but they return their top seven scorers from 2022-2023. They possess a strong interior game, with 6-0 Senior front-liner [player_tooltip player_id='177326' first='Rachel' last='Harshman'] (14.4p, 7.3r) leading the way. She is strong and physical but flashes perimeter skill as well. 5-11 Senior forward [player_tooltip player_id='239348' first='Kalyn' last='Bunch'] (7.9p, 6.0r) and 6-0 Junior post [player_tooltip player_id='453219' first='Randee' last='Garringer'] (5.2p, 2.4r) mix with Harshman to solidify the '4' and '5' positions for the Pioneers. 5-8 Junior guard [player_tooltip player_id='295772' first='Ava' last='Shafer'] (7.8p, 3.7r, 2.0a) is a tough-nosed, hard-working guard who brings athleticism to the perimeter. 5-7 Senior guard Sydney Hardy (4.7p, 3.8r) and 5-6 Senior guard Emma McGinley (4.0p, 2.2r) add veteran starting experience as well. 5-4 Sophomore point guard Lyla Jacobs (3.2p in 17 games) looks for a much bigger role and could start this year. From there, 5-6 Junior guard Addison Vanwanzeele (1.5p) adds another upperclassman who has seen Varsity action on a regular basis.

Last year, Bloomington North posted its first winning record since the 2010-2011 season. They could be in for good fortunes again this time around, but Mallory Barrow (6.6p, 2.7r), Avery Patterson (5.0p, 3.3r, 3.6a), Libby Rice (1.9p, 2.6r), and Jamie Lian (1.8p) all graduated, plus Junior forward [player_tooltip player_id='366802' first='Kenli' last='Sullivan'] (9.3p, 7.5r) chose not to return. Still, though, the Cougars return their top two scorers and have a nice Freshman class entering this year. 6-0 Senior forward [player_tooltip player_id='239356' first='Mia' last='Robbennolt'] (12.5p, 6.9r, 2.2a) can be a matchup problem with her inside-out skill and athleticism. 5-10 Senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='239355' first='Ava' last='Reitmeyer'] (9.6p, 3.8r) looked even more improved throughout the Summer and gives them a heady, experienced shooter. 5-6 Junior guard [player_tooltip player_id='570385' first='Ava' last='Robbennolt'] (6.0p, 3.0r, 2.3a) can play on the ball and facilitate for the Cougars. She should play a much bigger role this year. From there, they turn to that 2027 class. 5-11 Freshman front-liner Ashley Stegemoller and 5-11 Freshman wing [player_tooltip player_id='612077' first='Audrey' last='Burton'] could both start. Rilynn Williams is a Freshman point guard who can offer backcourt support. Look for the Cougars to be more consistent once their youngsters adapt to the Varsity game. Bloomington South got back to their winning ways in 2022-2023, and they look to match and increase their win total from a year ago. To do so, they must mask the graduation loss of forward Caitlin Helm (12.7p, 7.6r). 6-0 Senior forward [player_tooltip player_id='201876' first='Abbie' last='Lucas'] (5.7p, 4.5r) is a 4-year Varsity performer, but now she becomes a real focal point for the Panthers. She is active, athletic, and versatile. She gets help from a pair of second-year players who saw a lot of action as rookies. 5-10 Sophomore wing [player_tooltip player_id='624879' first='Julia' last='Lashley'] (4.0p, 3.7r) and 6-1 Sophomore forward [player_tooltip player_id='404387' first='Violet' last='Hall'] (2.7p) also bring size, skill, and versatility. After those three, there is a lot of youthful talent to choose from. 5-7 Junior wing [player_tooltip player_id='331792' first='Molli' last='Lucas'] brings strength and skill, 5-9 Sophomore guard [player_tooltip player_id='832694' first='Audrey' last='Craft'] adds skill and size on the perimeter, while 6-1 Sophomore post [player_tooltip player_id='928896' first='Rebekah' last='Arnold'] gives the Panthers another sizeable option along their frontline. If South can get solid perimeter play to go along with their size, they could be in for another nice season.

Greenwood Community is in an interesting position, because they graduated six players, but they still return five others who saw significant action at times. Gone of note are Lily Howe (9.2p, 2.5r, 2.5s), Ella Stivers (7.8p, 5.5r), and Emilly Metzger (7.0p, 2.0r). Of the returnees, the top one back is 5-4 Senior guard Charlee Mayo (3.7p) she has speed and quickness, and she could have a breakout year with those other guards graduating. 6-0 Junior forward [player_tooltip player_id='828091' first='Emma' last='Gardner'] (3.1p, 4.5r) was a nice surprise last year, and she looks to build upon her output in 2023-2024. Senior guard Breanna Pierce (2.0p), Junior guard Keyara Johnson (1.0p), and Senior wing Stasia Buckalew (1.0p) each have solid Varsity experience and will need to step into much bigger roles if they want to approach 10 wins this season. Martinsville struggled through an 0-25 season last year, but they should be much improved in 2023-2024. Despite graduating Holly Galyan (10.3p) and Maci Dorsett (2.9p), there is optimism in the program. 5-8 Sophomore wing Mya Lewis (5.6p, 2.9r) showed flashes as a rookie of being a focal point moving forward. 5-6 Senior guard Marina Rautenkranz (5.6p, 3.0r) returns multiple years of experience to the lineup. 5-7 Senior guard Emma Potter (2.1p) and 5-6 Senior wing Paycee Lewis (1.3p, 2.5r) also return after playing a lot as Juniors. The Artesians could also turn to a solid Freshman class that includes wing Addie Curless, forward Brynlee Hamblin, and guard Raleigh Smith.
