Forde is a class of 2027 that you will want to know, starting her career at the brand new Nelson High School in Happy Valley. She has already helped lead the Hawks to a 2-0 start. Forde can be a dominant force inside at 6’2″, yet with this size, she is incredibly quick and light on her feet. She also has the ability to attack from the perimeter thanks to her tight handles while she is also constantly playing clean up crew on the offensive glass. She already has several D1 offers including from Portland State, San Jose State, and Michigan with many more likely to come.

Oluwafemi is another 2027 for which the sky is the limit in regards to her potential. An incredible athlete, she is capable of doing just about anything on a basketball court. In just her second game, a contest against St. Mary’s Academy, Oluwafemi had a double-double with 19 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists, 4 steals. Those points included both finishes at the rim after she blew by her defender with an impressive move and a quick first step as well as beautiful threes. In fact, the Wildcats even ran a few elevator screens to get her open from deep. As this was only the second game of her high school career, there is a whole lot left to see from Oluwafemi.

A freshman at Crescent Valley, last year’s state runners-up at the 5A level, Starwalt is a player that will make a lot of noise over the next four years. She already established herself as the Raiders’ leading scorer and a star on the rise during summer ball. With her club team over the summer, Starwalt shined at the End of the Oregon Trail Tournament where she averaged 22.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and a steal and a block per game over the course of 8 games, all while shooting nearly 57% from beyond the arc. After playing tough games with two of the best and most experienced teams in the state in Willamette and Crater, Starwalt and Crescent Valley will grow and become even more lethal as the season goes on.

Mentioned in my previous article after a dynamic start to her career, Vogel is absolutely a freshman to keep an eye on this basketball season. Vogel had 14 points, 6 rebounds, and 9 steals in the very first game of her career. In the next few games, she pulled in 10 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and 5 steals in Tillamook’s win over Valley Catholic and 10 points, 7 assists, and 7 steals in the victory over Yamhill-Carlton. She is a force to be reckoned with in the first few weeks of her career and is already helping the Cheesemakers see massive improvement from their past few seasons. She will no doubt be someone we hear about throughout this season.

Taking a look at the 1A field of play, Kaitlyn Siegner Kaitlyn Siegner 5’9″ | PF Crane | 2027 OR is a freshman that can’t be overlooked. Coming from an incredible athletic family — her sister Kelsie plays at Eastern Oregon now, her cousin Sam was a key player for the Beavers a few years ago, and her dad player football at Oregon — Siegner has all the tools to play at the next level just like her family members. She has the athleticism and skillset of a guard with speed, good handles, and the ability to shoot from outside combined with the size and strength to go to work down low. Crane’s squad is an early favorite to win the 1A state title this season and a lot of that will depend on Siegner’s play this season for the Mustangs
