Silva has always been one of those players constantly adding to her game and even at a young age, her comprehension was ahead of her years. Yeah, she understands how to run a team, when to push the ball and when to slow it down yet her ability to control the tempo and make good decisions are just things you can’s teach. Court vision is very good, so is her ability to create her shot while being defended to drop it from outside, mid to long-range, as well as score off the dribble
Highlights
Carroll is a “long and athletic” guard and watching her elevate her game every year since I saw her VERY EARY in her career, nothing is surprising to me about what she’s doing and will do. She handles the ball well under pressure and her first step, in the set as well as in transition is really nice but she can dish it in traffic going full speed, while being defended. Her mid to long-range is nice, so is her attacking and finishing after contact, solid body control
Nickerson is an athletic guard that does a good job of using her athleticism on both ends of the court. Her on the ball pressure baseline to baseline helps to create turnovers, she reads the floor so playing the passing lane is a given, yet her court vision in the open court as well as in the set are both solid. She creates her shot while being defended and either scores off the dribble, after contact included, or drop the jumper from mid to long-range
Highlights
Kearney is also “long and athletic” plus she’s way over “the magic number” and that alone places her as a #D1Lock when you add her intangibles. Watching her score around the basket and doing it with either hand was part of the progression yet so was her rebounding, which she does on both ends, and go coast to coast to score, with either hand. She’s nowhere near the finished product which is scary because the jumps that she’s made in the improvements are exciting as the jumps she makes to block, alter and (or) deflect shots
Highlights
Johnson is strong and powerful and at times, she shows she can simply takeover games offensively either posting up smaller guards around the basket to score, after contact, or spot up and drop the jumper, her mid to long-range is solid. She also can score off the dribble and at times, seeing her score with players literally hanging on her should help paint the picture yet she does a good job “seeing the floor” with crisp on the money passes. Solid rebounder, on both ends and defends in the set as well as baseline to baseline
