Below are my 5 new additions to keep an eye on !
Hinton’s wingspan is the first thing that sticks out. Shes impactful on the boards, and a majority of them are secured with one hand. Offensively she has a solid shot that allows her to extend beyond 15 ft and out. From a playmaking point of a view, Gabby can produce at all angles. The length allows her to make on target full court passes, as well as cross body passes – that may seem difficult. Defensively, solid footwork and her length helps with guarding multiple positions.
Highlights
A for sure player that coaches should keep an eye on has the season concludes and AAU begins. Courtny’s size matches perfect with her versatility and from my first time seeing her back at the MHS Academic Elite Showcase, she’s improved. Great length, high motor and a player that seems to get things done no matter what side of the ball she’s on. Strong potential.
Highlights
Crafty, fearless and smooth. Chapa has been overlooked, but the talent she has can’t be ignored. She has the ability to get to the rim in a minimal amount of dribbles, but also has the ball control to get herself out of trouble if it comes. Solid shooter from the mid and beyond as well. Strong potential.
A tough and physical guard who adds another layer of aggression to a strong O’fallon backcourt. Tart defensive instincts are present in almost every game. On the offensive side of the ball, she can get to and finish at the rim, as well as knock down the open shot. A solid piece for her talented team.
I’ve seen Alton play numerous times in the first half of the season, and one of the consistency’s is Orr’s intentions on being vocal. On the bench and on the floor the kid just communicates. She has the energy of a natural leader, and the player that a coach can depend on to get things done. Whether it’s scoring, rebounding or simply getting her teammates back in the game.
