Below are 7 players from Central and Southern Illinois who took big leaps in the rankings.
Parker has been on a tear all season. The consistency of her impact on the game is impressive to watch as well. Securing a D1 offer from Loyola (Chicago) this past fall, as well as notching 1000 points.. Parker has been the talk of many conversations regarding top prospects in this class.
Highlights
Dalia’s skillset is aligned with the new type of D1 guard. Long, the ability to score and make plays at multiple levels, as well as defend 1-3. Dejesus also secured 1000 points this past Monday, a bright future is ahead for this kid. High potential.
Donald plays much bigger than her size, and her skillset ranges from a rim attacker to a floor stretcher. Her game allows her to adapt to multiple positions as well as play multiple roles. She can be a number 2/3 option, but has the shooting to change a game quickly.
A tough and physical player who has the energy and awareness to be a game changer on the defensive side of the ball. Offensively, Green can get things done from all angles. Scoring wise, she can get hot from downtown quickly, but can also slide into the facilitator role. Strong potential.
Highlights
A simple skillset that gets things done. Ruholl can score from multiple levels, but her ability to knock down shots from behind the arc is what sticks out the most. Off the dribble, catch and shoot, off the screen, as well as the quick trigger threes (not bothered by a closeout). A solid playmaker as well.
Defense is the side of the ball that Mazzy seems to lock in on, but offensively is where her potential takes another leap. She covers a lot of ground on the drive, and can score from multiple levels. O’Brien has a good amount of talent that goes well with a high IQ.
Highlights
Lacey’s frame allows her to do more than just be a scorer. On the boards she’s a problem, defensively she can deal with multiple types of players, and offensively she can be a presence in the paint, on the drive and beyond the arc. With a D1 offer already secured, Lacey should find herself receiving more as she’s been a huge piece to her high schools program successful season.
