There are still a lot of unsigned talented 2024s, but a lot of attention will be focused on 2025s as well. In this article, we look at some of the talented Juniors who stood out in the first few weeks of the year.
Zion McRae Zion McRae 5'4" | SG The Villages | 2025 State FL reached the milestone of 1,000 points in just 2 seasons and a half and it comes as no surprise. McRae is a baller who can put the ball in the basket. She is presently averaging nearly 26 points per game. McRae is a relentless player who attacks the rim with a vengeance and purpose. Defensively, she is also a force and plays on ball defense and also thrives in defending in the passing lanes. McRae has proven to be one of the top Juniors in the State. She is likely to be the biggest stock risers in the 2025 class.
Sy’monique Simon Sy’monique Simon 5'6" | SG Cardinal Mooney | 2025 State FL (cover photo) balled out this past weekend, scoring 19 points against Sickles. She is a high IQ player who can score from anywhere on the court. Simon can score at all three levels on the court and has a very good feel for the game. She is a selfless player who brings energy and effort when she plays and always inspires her teammates.
Abby Knauff Abby Knauff 5'9" | SG Bolles | 2025 State FL showed some resiliency in her matchup against Bishop Kenny this past week. Knauff finished with 15 points and 6 rebounds. For the majority of the game she was matched up against 2024 Furman commit, Clare Coyle. Knauff is one of the most talented players in the 2025 class and in the State of Florida. She is discovering that teams are going to put their toughest defender on her. Against Bishop Kenny, Knauff came out in the second half and scored in various ways, including a few baskets in the paint. She had to work for every single point against Coyle. That matchup was worth the price of admission.
Kamela Marshall Kamela Marshall 5'7" | SF University Christian | 2025 State FL played well versus Paxon and really showed some versatility to her game. Marshall has been known for her three point shooting, but in this game she mixed it up in the paint and finished with some nice left and right hand layups. Marshall has good size and can play multiple positions on the floor. Her versatility and size makes her a very worthy prospect in the 2025 class.
Kali Barrett Kali Barrett 6'2" | SF Cardinal Mooney | 2025 State FL played well over the week and flirted with a triple double with 18 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists against a very good Sickles team. Barrett can score in multiple ways. She can beat you with the three, the attack to the rim, and in the midrange area. She leads her team in scoring, assists, and even blocked shots, which shows her commitment to both sides of the court. Barrett brings leadership and talent to the court and those are just a few reasons that she is one of the top prospects in the State in any class.
