Three point shooting, turnovers, and transition baskets were the order from the get-go as the Mustangs were never challenged. Frontier’s success was dictated by a pair of athletic, composed guards. Despite the lopsided outcome the Longhorns overall did a good job of boxing out and using their size to rebound the ball. Here are a few notes on notable players from each team.
Chisholm
Miranda Clark, 5’4″, PG, 2027 – Clark is quick, fast with the ball, and plays with aggressiveness on the offensive end. Has work to do to size up defenses when bringing the ball up court and choosing when and how to split traps as they come. Solid potential to be very good.
Emma Kate Kruska, 5’11”, C, 2025 – Kruska has a solid, long frame that she uses to box out nicely on the defensive end. Jumps to the ball with both hands well and takes care of the ball to clear it. She has solid hands and keeps the ball up well in scoring attempts off the catch and off the rebound. I would really like to see Kruska to use her size to take up space, seal defenders, command the ball, and use her quickness to score inside.
Frontier
Bonnie Childs, SG, 2026 – Childs blistered the Longhorns for three first quarter three point baskets and would bury at least another before the night was through. She moves into space and spots up well to receive passes off ball reversals. She has solid speed and works well in tandem with the point guard.
Kylee Ruff, PG, 2026 – Quick and athletic on the finish Ruff passes well on the perimeter and is the Mustangs’ top all-around scoring threat. She uses the glass well, finishes creatively and with athleticism, and has a nice floater. Gets the ball to her strong shooting guard off ball reversals and in transition.
