As January closes and the regular season dwindles down, tournament time is knocking at the door. Our young ladies from the Volunteer state have been putting that work in over the course of 3+ months now. Teams around the state are jockeying for position as every game matters here on out.

Though basketball is a team game, all players must do their job in order for the whole to succeed. In the mist of it all, some player thrive in their role and start starring in what they do. It's a testament to their hard work, but they gain confidence in their team as well as their ability. In the mid-state, we've had some young ladies who have put on their super woman cape and kicked it into high gear. They have wheeled their team to victory by putting them on their backs. It could be from splashing bucket after buckets, dropping dimes, or locking up on D. Whatever it is, we see you !

Check out some hot prospects whose stocks are increasing around the Mid State.

[player_tooltip player_id='636541' first='Hailey' last='Collins'] (5'6/PG/ So./ Columbia Academy)- she's playing with a lot of confidence . She's come into the CA program with a chip on her shoulder. She's not only leading the offense efficiently, she's getting buckets along the way. From draining 3s to getting paint touches, coaches are having to alter their game plans now that Hailey has come on the scene. She not only goes hard on the offensive end, but contributes on the defensive end as well. Look for her to continue on this upwards trajectory.

[player_tooltip player_id='405707' first='Erianna' last='Thomas'] (5'4/ CG/ Sr./ Pearl-Cohn)- I must say she's the talk of the town. She keeps getting better and better game by game. ET is the leading catalyst for her ball ckub and she brings it every night. No matter who her team is playing, she is up for the challenge . She's going to be a nuisance , first by locking you up on the defensive end, then going to get the bucket. She's in double figures every game and contributes in other statistical categories. This kid has had a phenomenal high school career.

[player_tooltip player_id='409003' first='Ally' last='Weathers'] (5'9/SG/ Jr./ Loretto)- I must say this kid is a gamer. Despite her squad having one of the toughest in the state, Ally shows up and shows out. She's a three point threat that is money from the arc, shooting over 60%. She's almost averaging 20 points per game. Had in her contributions on the boards and play making ability where she displayed her court vision making timely assists, talk about one tough prospect. Weathers is a hooper and one who is hard to stop. She looks to lead her Lady Mustangs deep into postseason play. She's playing with a lot of confidence. For one , ballin' is in her DNA. But 2, she is just built different. Look for Ally to continue on this upwards trend.

[player_tooltip player_id='821756' first='Allye' last='Pennington'](5'6/ PG/ Fr./ East Robertson)- The freshman sensation has come out like a rocket this high school basketball season. She's a tough kid who just gets after it. She competes! Enough said. The kid is a multi-level scoring threat and she lets you know that. Defenses have tried to slow her down, but she keeps getting better and better. What I like about her is she can play with the ball in her hands or without, either way, she's going to find a way to put it in the cup. She is a hard working kid that plays with energy. Look for her to continue to be someone tough for opponents to deal with for years to come.

Gracie Weakley (5'10/ PF/ So./ Cheatham Co.)- Talk about a kid who has come out of nowhere. The Cheatham Co. club is hot and Gracie is doing her thing in the midst of this exciting stretch of basketball. Gracie has been filling it up from the field, coming in clutch . She's not only scoring, but owning the boards, almost bringing in double figures per game. She brings the juice for her ball club, establishing their momentum and confidence. Look for her to continue to thrive and make this season a magical one. Cinderella group? As long as Gracie is out there you never know.

As January closes and the regular season dwindles down, tournament time is knocking at the door. Our young ladies from the Volunteer state have been putting that work in over the course of 3+ months now. Teams around the state are jockeying for position as every game matters here on out.
