Keziah Lofton was one of my favorite players to watch on Saturday. Keziah kept Bethany in the game against St. Johns, and she showcased her high-level skillset. Keizah has a deep bag of moves she goes to when she attacks the rim. She showed that she could finish with either hand under challenging angles. The Oklahoma commit also knocked down a few jump shots and put on an absolute show, even in a losing effort.
Kyndal Walker had an almost flawless game in St. John’s 17-point win over Bethany. Whenever I watch Kyndal Walker, her rebounding always sticks out to me. She is a great athlete, and at 5’9″, she uses her athleticism so productively. She scored a lot inside and dominated this game in the paint. Kyndal finished with 23 points and was named the MVP of this game.
Highlights
Another St. John’s guard I liked on Saturday was Morgan Stewart. The Sophomore combo guard got started early for St. John’s. She got a nice bounce on a three early, then did a lot of great work in the paint for the rest of the game. She was aggressive, played off of her teammates, and stood out to me as one of this game’s best players.
Highlights
Saniyah King Saniyah King 5’8″ | CG Bishop Ireton | 2024 State VA ‘s defensive intensity impressed me in Bishop Ireton’s game against Desert Vista. She was also very productive as a scorer, getting to the rim and making some nice moves to get short mid-rangers off. This wasn’t the best performance from Bishop Ireton, especially in the second half, but Saniyah played well for the most part. I love watching Saniyah play; she has so much skill as a scorer and ball handler.
Eanae Dagons showed out on defense on both days of the MLK classic. Eanae is strong and athletic and is a tremendous defender. She also knocked down some open shots and used her speed to attack the rim well. Eanae scored the 1000 point of her high school career on a clutch steal that she turned into an easy layup. Desert Vista played two low-scoring and super-close games that they ended up winning, and Eanae was big down the stretch of both these games.
Dylan Swindle was another player on Desert Vista that played well. Like the rest of this Desert Vista squad, she competed on defense and turned her defense into offense. Dylan knocked down shots and made a lot of clutch plays. There were a lot of Desert Vista players I could have shouted out truthfully, But Dylan, along with Eanae, had the best performances for me.
