Sometimes you need gradual heat so that you can get acquainted to the temperature change. Morgan is one of those players that get warmer and warmer as the game goes on. She led all scorers with 11 of her 20 points coming in the fourth quarter. Her mid-range game was red hot as she made all her field goals from inside the arc.

Morgan’s decision making and controlling the tempo was on full showcase during her Cadet lead comeback. In the fourth quarter she finished with a collective of 16 points as she scored from every level. Her college ready size allows her to stop and pop. Her mid-range shot is unstoppable as she hit two key shots. She also sank two game changing three pointers and four free throws, also in the fourth quarter. Morgan finished 31 points, 10 coming within the last four minutes of the game.

Morgan shot the three very well, she was terrific in the mid-range working her way to a game high 31 points. She was able to create space despite being closely guarded for the entire game. She had a smooth pull up off of the wrap-around dribble that had the defender in a daze as the ball was going through the hoop. Then there was the fade away and floater off of one leg that were pro-level moves. However, I was most impressed with her inside positioning where she was able to post and seal the defender for an easy drop step and finish.

Morgan is one of the most underrated players in the conference, but is starting to get her due. She will be leading the charge for the Cadets and will be asked to do a lot. The good thing is that she has a lot in her game to give and have the experience of two rings. She has few weaknesses as she can dribble, shoot and defend. If the team rallies around her she can lead them to the finals. She can play all five positions but not at the same time so everyone is going to have to dig deep for the Cadets to be holding up the trophy in the end.

Morgan’s stock rises each time we watch her. Her confidence has seemed to grow to the point where she realizes that she is a premier player. She can get to open areas on the court and knock down the shot wherever it is. She is effective at the point and off the ball making her the perfect combo to switch back and forth to throw off defenses. When keyed on she can be just as effective making others better with her decision making and passing.

There is a reason she is a Top 60 player in the Class of 2026. She plays with poise and tempo and under control. She scored at all 3 levels against NJ Shoreshots and Empire State P24. She is very smooth in all facets of the game and is willing to go out and guard the ball hard on the defensive end for her Germantown Lady Panthers team.

Morgan has shot up dramatically in the class rankings and for good reason, the do everything guard has emerged from the shadows of some of the all-Americans she’s played behind and is showing what she is actually capable of. She has excellent size for a guard and the skill and ability to contribute to a college program today. Lucky for us she has another high school season to complete.

Morgan did everything that she could to keep her team close in the game and at one point it seemed like it was working as the Cadets cut the game to four points midway in the third quarter. She finished with a game high 23 points while going a perfect 8 for 8 from the line. At times she looked like the best player in the building.

was St. John’s only consistent source of offense in this game. Morgan was determined to get to the rim, and she got to the foul line a lot. Morgan had a few tough floaters that showed off her touch, and she knocked down a handful of threes. Morgan ended with 25 points.

was outstanding in this game, especially in the second half. Morgan did a great job attacking the rim and dishing to players. Morgan hit big shots and bailed out St. John’s at the end of possessions a few times. Last week at the Art Turner, I talked about Morgan’s elevated role this season and how she has played as the point guard. She was terrific again today in a St. John’s win.
