Adaline Sheplee Adaline Sheplee 6'2" | CG Rice Lake | 2026 State WI
The Sheplee family has some incredible athletes, but I want to focus on some of the athletic traits that make Ady one of the best prospects in the region. For one, you don’t find kids who can jump out of the gym like Sheplee, and I’ve talked about it in the past, but her getting the ball unstuck from the rim drew the loudest applause I’ve heard from AAU crowds. There are also not many kids at 6-2 who move as well laterally as Sheplee does. She can guard one through five at the high school level. Even the first step she has is as quick as anyone in Wisconsin. I know most of the state may not have gotten to see her in person, but she’s as unique as anyone in Wisconsin.
Leah Nordin Leah Nordin 6'1" | PF Shawano | 2026 State WI
Her combination of size, length, and skill is rare. She’s a three-level scorer and has excelled against some of the perennial powers in the Bay Conference. As far as I know, she’s the only kid in high school basketball or AAU ball in Wisconsin to get lobs drawn up for her on a routine basis because where she gets to vertically, few people can meet her there. Even less noticeable things like the lift she gets on her jumper make it near impossible to get a contest, showing how much athleticism is in her game.
Haddie Showen Haddie Showen 5'9" | PG Westfield | 2025 State WI
Kids I’ve talked about thus far tend to jump out athletically, but Showen is more understated. Is she fast? Yes. Could she jump over taller players for rebounds? Yes. However, I love how much nuance is in her game. I couldn’t tell you what defenses fear more, Showen beating them off the dribble or burying multiple threes per game. Making shots well beyond the three-point line helps, but here’s what makes her so dynamic. Her change of pace and direction are as good as anyone’s in the state. The logical step for a kid like that is to throw multiple defenders their way, but here’s the issue. Showen is 5-9 or 5-10, so she can see over most guards and fire passes anywhere on the floor in Westfield’s halfcourt offense. I love how complete her skillset is, and she’s improved a lot since her freshman campaign.
Taressa Hennes Taressa Hennes 6'0" | SF Hartford Union | 2027 State WI
There may not be anyone more athletic than Taressa Hennes Taressa Hennes 6'0" | SF Hartford Union | 2027 State WI , and she’s in her first year of high school basketball. I’ll never forget her jumping and grabbing the rim multiple times after playing games at the PGH Freshman Showcase in September. Any other kid would’ve been tired, but Hennes had plenty of energy to burn. I believe she has some skills she doesn’t have to show at Hartford because of the talent they have, but there’s a chance she could end up as one of the best kids in her class. However, Hennes makes plays on the defensive end that makes no sense. She’s one to keep tabs on going forward.
