Continue ReadingAs we tip off the girls high school season throughout Nebraska, there are going to be a few new articles/evaluations that we publish every week during the season, that we have not done recently in the past. One of those articles being our MVP Of The Week and Players Of The Week.
The MVP Of The Week is an individual that displayed what it means to put on a major performance/s for their perspective squad throughout the week. Someone who came out firing on all cylinders and dominated in more ways than one on the hardwood while putting up an eye-opening stat line.
The Players Of The Week are other individuals that were in consideration for the MVP of the week but fell just short in the end when taking into consideration all outlying factors.
Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!

- 1/25/24 vs Wakefield – 28 Points (9-14), 5 Rebounds, 4 Assists, 2 Steals, 4 TO’s
One of the best stat lines of the week, if not THEE best stat line of the week was the one that Rena Rasmussen Rena Rasmussen 5’9″ | PF Laurel-Concord-Coleridge | 2027 NE of Laurel-Concord-Coleridge High School posted on Thursday night against Wakefield. In this one, Rasmussen had 28 points on 65% shooting, 5 Rebounds, 4 Assists, and 2 Steals in a 68-52 victory. In a game where her team scored 68 points total, Rasmussen had more than 33.3% of her teams total scoring in the win. In last months update, Rasmussen wasn’t a prospect that was included in her 2027 Class but that is all about to change. After watching some film and seeing a performance like this, while only standing at 5’7, I’m sure that Rasmussen has the base to become productive over her next four years of high school ball. Maybe even taking her talents to a collegiate program when things are all said and done. We are still a few years away from all of that but it’s a possibility at this rate. The way she impacts a game is eye-opening and she is only going to get better with experience.

- 1/22/23 @ Guernsey-Sunrise – 18 Points (6-10), 4 Rebounds, 2 Assists, 6 Steals, 2 TO’s
Britney Klein Britney Klein 5’5″ | SG Crawford | 2024 State NE is someone that I have recently mentioned throughout the state of Nebraska because of her production and that has not slowed down one bit. This past week on Monday evening, Klein led her team with 18 Points, 4 Rebounds, 2 Assists, and 6 Steals. As you can tell, this was the type of game where Klein was flying all over the place, giving it her all once again. She kept her offense efficient with mostly shots near the rim and stayed in control every time she touched the basketball. Not to mention that a lot of her offense was happening because of her active hands on defense that led to turnovers. This isn’t the first time or last time you are going to hear the name Britney Klein Britney Klein 5’5″ | SG Crawford | 2024 State NE . She does a lot of positive things and can contribute when it matters the most in a contest. Which is usually a recipe for success in this game we call basketball.

- 1/22/24 vs Kenesaw – 18 Points (7-13), 10 Rebounds, 1 Assist, 2 Steals, 1 Block, 2 TO’s
Ashley Bauer was her team’s presence scoring and rebounding the ball on Tuesday night in her teams contest against Kenesaw High School. Bauer is a prospect that has a good head on her shoulders and a high motor around the basket. Every time that she takes the floor, she is sure to record some positive stats for her team in one category or another. In this specific game, Bauer finished things off with 18 points on 7-13 shooting, 10 Rebounds, 1 Assist, 2 Steals, and 1 Block. She handled the area from block-from-block thoroughly and never gave up any space on either side of the floor when trying to navigate around her matchup. Bauer has put up a few nice stat lines this season and I hope that can continue moving forward. She has the wherewithal and skill to make some things happen. As long as she continues to believe in herself, she is going to continue to succeed on the hardwood.

- 1/23/24 vs Mullen – 16 Points (5-11), 7 Rebounds, 4 Assists, 5 Steals, 2 Blocks, 3 TO’s
There wasn’t a ton of scoring in the Arthur County vs Mullen game on Tuesday but the majority of it that was done, was done by Jaeden Johns of AC. Johns almost ended this game with a double-double but fell just short. Nevertheless her team won and she was the standout player so I’m sure that she is okay with the results. All season long Johns has been her teams pulse. There really is no other way to put it. The numbers that she posted in this contest are basically what her averages have been all season long and that says something. If she has time and the space to work, she is very good. She demonstrates quick feet and the knowledge of knowing what to do when, on both sides of the ball. I’m not sure what the outlook is for this Arthur County team as it pertains to the rest of their season and where they might end up in the Playoffs but they definitely have a play-maker here in Johns.

- 1/26/24 vs Elkhorn North – 17 Points
Waverly High School invited in the powerhouse that is Elkhorn North into their home on Friday and they came out victorious by a final score of 58-48. This win was a team effort. There is no other way to put it but every team has their leaders and this teams leader is PG, Peyton Tritz Peyton Tritz 5’6″ | PG Waverly | 2024 State NE . Tritz is a college commit and a heck of a Point Guard. Her play-style would be labeled as fast, controlled, and efficient. She moves quickly with everything she does but she also has intent behind all of her decisions. She never does anything on the court where I question her motives or what she was thinking. I can always see where she was going with things or the idea of a play, even if it doesn’t happen work out. Against North on Friday, Tritz led her team in scoring with 17. This group also had 2-3 others in double figures but the most vital was Tritz. She led her team by example from the beginning and that’s why her team won.
