In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the Cardinals played a clip from his famous “I Have a Dream” speech before each game and our national anthem. The event was well organized with college coaches, scouts, and media in attendance. Here are prospects who performed at a high level for their teams during the first two games of the day.
Addison Scheurer
Addison Scheurer
#11 Addison Scheurer (2024) is a scrappy PG for Portland St. Patrick; she made key plays on both ends at SVSU. Addison did everything for her team by scoring layups in transition, deflecting passes, handling the ball under pressure, drilling multiple 3’s, and providing vocal leadership on the court. Addison made clutch free throws in the 4th to help seal the win. She led the charge offensively scoring 14 points with 4 assists and 4 rebounds. Addison will be playing softball at LCC in 2024, but could help the Stars basketball program also.

#21 Gracelyn Rockey Gracelyn Rockey 5’7″ | SF Portland St. Patrick | 2027 State MI (2027) performed beyond her years at the SVSU MLK Classic. She tied for the team lead with 14 points and led the Shamrocks with 9 rebounds. She was relentless in her pursuit of rebounds on both ends and finished multiple downhill drives. Gracelyn works hard to keep inside position on defense and causes turnovers by deflecting passes. She knocked down a wing three and is a smooth shooter who can score at all levels. Gracelyn is a freshman who will be a prospect to watch blossom over the next few seasons.
Mattie Honsowitz
Mattie Honsowitz
#25 Mattie Honsowitz (2026) provided the interior scoring for St. Patrick at the SVSU MLK Classic. She converted many shots in the paint for the Shamrocks, scoring in transition and in the half court. Mattie hit a mid-range pull-up jumper and out-worked her opponents for multiple offensive rebounds to score put backs. Mattie scored 12 points and added 6 rebounds to help her team earn an impressive victory.
Madi Uyl Madi Uyl 5’7″ | PG DeWitt | 2025 State MI faced a tough matchup at the SVSU MLK Classic and led Dewitt to victory. She handled the ball effectively under pressure using various dribble moves to create space and then finished many contested layups at the rim. It’s rare that a prospect can finish equally well with both hands and Madi was able to accomplish that using floaters and scoops around the basket. She caused turnovers and created transition baskets for the Panthers. Madi led Dewitt with 16 points and added 4 rebounds.
Carly Dennis Carly Dennis 5'8" | SF DeWitt | 2026 State MI
Carly Dennis Carly Dennis 5'8" | SF DeWitt | 2026 State MI
#12 Carly Dennis Carly Dennis 5’8″ | SF DeWitt | 2026 State MI (2026) was an effective performer for Dewitt in all areas of the game at SVSU. She played with ferocity by ripping the ball out of her opponents hands for a steal and rebounding the basketball with intensity. Carly showed the range to knock down shots and had the downhill burst to face up and blow by defenders. She finishes with both hands effectively around the rim and makes skilled passes from the high post. Carly corralled a rebound then raced down the floor using pushout dribbles before drawing defenders for an assist. She ended the night with an impressive 15 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 steals.
Kadyn Maida Kadyn Maida 5’9″ | SG Saline | 2025 State MI is a lengthy wing for Saline who looked impressive at the SVSU MLK Classic. She showed downhill burst, outside shooting accuracy, and played effective defense by stealing passes and causing deflections. Kadyn was a key scorer for the Hornets with 13, converting many layups in traffic and knocking down two corner 3’s. She is an athletic wing that makes impact plays on both ends.
Keira Roehm Keira Roehm 5’7″ | SG Saline | 2026 State MI performed effectively for Saline on the offensive end at the SVSU MLK Classic. What stood out to me was that she got herself rolling offensively without shooting the long ball to start. Keira scored on multiple drives to the rim and used an effective reverse layup. As the game progressed, she started to heat up and buried multiple 3’s for the Hornets from the wing coming off screens and off-ball movements. Keira scored through a foul with her left at the rim and finished the night with a game high 19 points, adding 4 rebounds.
