SCOUTING REPORTS
Abby Swart
Abby Swart
An outstanding scorer, the senior first stood-out for her playmaking and defensive capabilities. Swart was all over the court on defense, it started with a helpside steal from behind. Continued with deflections and even getting on the glass well for a smaller guard. A theme throughout was her willingness to push the tempo once she had the ball. Which was huge for her team’s success, as she either went coast to coast herself, or set her teammates up with good opportunities. In the halfcourt, Swart was a consistent threat with off the dribble jumpers, with a focus on the mid-range. But there was also a make where her range also extended to well beyond the arc.
Rylee Buck
Rylee Buck
The junior had a Big House appearance to remember, as she caught fire from three hitting five times from distance. Her fifth came in the second half, pushing the lead out to 7. Along with her shooting providing a consistent spark, she also crashed the offensive glass hard late in the first half. Buck athletically snagged a longer offensive rebound, and immediately went back up, scoring and drawing a foul. Energy and shooting, it’s a key component of success and the junior provided just that for top ranked Dover.
An athletic lead guard prospect, Harviston was a game changer on the defensive end. She helped seal the game in the second half, where at the of the zone she tipped a pass to herself, then was off to the races. Where she finished through contact and drained the free throw to make it a 7 point lead, that the Lady Longhorns would extend from there. The senior is a fluid and efficient scorer, who’s athleticism and strength with the ball allows her to finish well around the rim. And even make athletic putbacks. Teaming with her sister Karlee, they provided Dover a huge edge on the defensive end. While also having the ability to earn the tough points around the rim.
Aliana Lawson
Aliana Lawson
A face up forward, with potential on the perimeter. Lawson fit in well with Lomega’s goals to push it in transition. Especially with good “grab and go” rebounds on the defensive end. One such attempt saw her go coast to coast, but instead of forcing she fired a great kick out pass to an open shooter. Lawson’s solid athleticism was made further evident with a nice block in the second half.
The freshman was very promising for Kiowa in their defeat. With a lanky frame and good movements, she was a plus rebounder with the way she corralled rebounds. Then on the offensive end, she was often operating in the high post. Where she was a good decision maker, by moving the ball well, or steeping into 15-18 footers. In the second half she had more success in that range as a shooter. There’s a good framework for a young prospect as a potential stretch forward or possibly even turn into more of a perimeter prospect.
Emma Roberts
Emma Roberts
The senior went out guns blazing from distance in the second half. After Kiowa and Roberts struggled a bit in the first half with Lomega’s pressure and pace, it was the lead guard who did her best in rallying the troops. She handled the pressure better, then gave them a lifeline from distance with at least three triples in the second half.
Adison Lee
Adison Lee
The Lady Falcons got off to a 9-0 start and Lee was at the heart of the early run. She hit a three to open the contest and also had relentless energy on strong, physical drives and finishes. While the game slowly got away from Turner, the senior continued to hit big threes to end her career at the Big House with a strong individual performance.
