The 4 vs 5 matchup in the Concorde district saw Westfield visit Chantilly. Chantilly had a great game offensively, especially in the first half, and Junior Forward Emerson Mustard Emerson Mustard 5’11” | PF Chantilly | 2025 VA set the tone. She was aggressive in getting to the rim and had some crafty finishes. Chantilly knocked down many threes, and Emerson joined that party with one of her own. Emerson was also hugely impactful on defense, getting her hands in passing lanes and being disruptive to what Westfield tried to do. Chantilly won this game largely because of the efficiency of their offense in the first half and them forcing Westfield into a lot of turnovers. Emerson finished with 18.
Another impressive player for Chantilly was Alivia Tarry Alivia Tarry 5’7″ | PG Chantilly | 2026 State VA . She didn’t have a huge scoring night, but a lot of the efficiency of Chantilly’s offense had to do with Alivia’s playmaking. She made the right plays, and her facilitating went a long way.
Highlights
Without Emma O’Connor Emma O’Connor 6’0″ | PF Westfield | 2024 State VA , Westfield would have seen themselves out of this game much earlier than they did. Emma was one of two people who scored for Westfield for most of this game. Emma knocked down jump shots, effectively put the ball on the floor, and got to the rim. Outside of leaving a few points on the foul line, Emma was about as good as you could ask of her on both ends.
Stone Bridge beat Independence by over 40 on Monday, and Senior Guard Addie Hafer Addie Hafer 5’5″ | SG Stone Bridge | 2024 State VA had a school record-setting performance. Addie almost outscored Independence herself, putting in 26 points and a school-record 8 threes on 13 shots. Stone Bridge is having a great year, and Addie’s experience has played a big part in their success. Addie is a great spot-up shooter and does well for Stone Bridge as a secondary ball handler.
Hayfield took on Annandale, and they cruised to a big win. Hayfield has had a nice season, and they have a couple of players I have enjoyed watching this year. One of them is Freshman Guard Courtney Breland Courtney Breland 5’9″ | CG Hayfield | 2027 State VA . Courtney had 23 points in a 45-point Hayfield victory. I like Courtney’s ability as a driver, and she has good vision when she goes downhill.

Meridian is a team I’ve watched a lot more over the past month, and they consistently impress me. In Meridian’s win over Seton, Ellie scored 23 points. Ellie is a terrific shooter and gets much of her offense from behind the arc.
