Breland brought energy to both ends of the floor, creating offense through her physicality and ability to play in transition. She turned defensive rebounds and steals into coast-to-coast finishes, attacked through traffic, battled for second-chance points on the offensive glass, and showcased the strength to score over defenders while also making clutch passes. Defensively, she played with anticipation and aggression, protecting the rim with blocks, disrupting passing lanes, and proving to be a high-impact competitor who never let up.

Breland makes the right reads and plays within the flow of the game. She moves well without the ball, creates opportunities, and attacks downhill with purpose when she finds gaps in the defense. She also contributes on the defensive end by rebounding, anticipating passes, and creating transition opportunities while using her body control and footwork to finish effectively around the basket.

Courtney has good size for a wing, a very smooth perimeter jumper, and she has a quick release, do not need much time or space to get her shot off. She uses her body well when opponents run her off the midrange and three point line and put the ball on the deck. Never appears to be rushed, and is always in control when the ball is in her hands to get easy buckets!

A versatile scorer who can effectively score the basketball in various ways. She can be a matchup nightmare and she knows how to they advantage of her these opportunities. Courtney has good shot from  the midrange and the perimeter, making her a threat from multiple spots on the court. Really good size and skillset looking forward to see her this weekend and with her new team this upcoming season!

Courtney is a great finisher inside and finishes after contact. She is a solid defender inside and on the perimeter. I was impressed with her ability to play anywhere on the court on both ends.

Courtney uses her size and strength when she gets to the rim, and she knocks down jumpshots. She is a good defender and has been a huge part of what Hayfield has done the past few years.

Courtney has nice size for a guard and is a complete offensive player. Hayfield will ask a lot from her this year, and I expect her to be fantastic. 

Can score anywhere on the court in various ways! She is so strong with the ball in her hand, and can be a matchup nightmare when she goes to the rim! Courtney has great size for a wing and can hit her shot from the midrange and the perimeter. She defended all over the floor and even can guard smaller quicker players on the wing!

Courtney Breland Courtney Breland 5'10" | CG Hayfield | 2027 State VA ‘s tenacity on both ends was eye-popping yesterday. She picked up players from halfcourt and got into opposing guards’ jerseys. She pushed the ball and drew contact with her aggressive driving. Courtney did great work on the boards on both ends, and she finished through contact on multiple occasions.
