Some times it truly feels like a lid is on top of the goal. It’s how you respond. It’s how you adapt. It’s how you defend. It’s your effort! Below are a few athletes that bring it every single night that they step on the court:
Despite the loss, Cloey played a good all-around game! Wade’s game is at another level when she can step out and consistently knock down 3’s. She knocked down a number of three point bombs in the game tonight against Soddy-Daisy! Wade is a good rebounder! She truly is blessed with great size and length! She is a great shot blocker too! I am not sure the exact number of blocks that she had but it was definitely over 3 in this game! The block shot stat is nothing new to Cloey Wade Cloey Wade 6’0″ | C South-Doyle | 2025 State TN ! She’s a great inside presence! Is she on your radar yet? She should be!
Hall was exceptional on the court! She is a good 2-way player with a non-stop motor! Alivia is a good on-ball defender and she has a great understanding of passing lines! She can score in bunches and in numerous ways! “I’ve always believed that if you put in the work, the results will come.” Hall has put in the work and she continues to will her team to big time wins! I’ll reiterate that Bryan College is getting a good one!
Gale left it all out on the floor! Despite the loss, the senior played her heart out! Daisy is an extremely talented athlete! She is explosive with the ball in her hands! If she gets past you, count it! One of my favorite plays of the night by Daisy was not the old fashioned 3 point play, but the knock down dagger 3 from the top of the key. Hank Aaron’s famous quote was, “Success isn’t defined by the final score, but the effort you put forth.” The effort by Daisy was truly unmatched! Mars Hill is getting a tough one!
What more can be said about Izzy Proffitt Izzy Proffitt 5’7″ | PG CAK | 2024 State TN ? Izzy continues to help her team win ball games! She’s a high IQ athlete and she makes the winning plays! She has a beautiful outside shot. She knocked down numerous 3’s in the game against PCA! Izzy has amazing court vision and she is truly an all-around elite player! I’ll reiterate that Anderson University is getting a good one!

“When the lights shine the brightest, the best will show up.” Remember that quote! Sims can shoot the ball at a high percentage. We’ve stated over and over that this young TKA team can shoot. TKA has Brady Branam Brady Branam 6’2″ | PF TKA | 2025 State TN , Skylar Walden Skylar Walden 5’8″ | PG The Kings Academy | 2027 TN , Olivia Loveday Olivia Loveday 5’8″ | SF The King’s Academy | 2027 TN , Kyle Young, Emily Atchley Emily Atchley 5’10” | SF The Kings Academy | 2026 TN , and Tiana Branam Tiana Branam 5’8″ | SF The King’s Academy | 2025 TN . It was a tie game with under 30 seconds to go in the game. I thought TKA would hold it for the last shot. Most would assume that Branam would take the last shot, but unfortunately Branam fouled out with 5 minutes left in the game. Some probably thought Walden would take it. The lights have never been brighter and Lillian Sims Lillian Sims 5’7″ | SG TKA | 2025 State TN did not hesitate to take the 3 and make the 3. Was this the biggest shot in Lillian Sims Lillian Sims 5’7″ | SG TKA | 2025 State TN ‘ basketball career so far? I would say so! Sims knows she can shoot and she is a good shooter! Lillian finished the night with 10 points and 3 rebounds! Let’s give Kyle Young the credit she deserves too for that assist to Sims!
Boykin led her team in scoring in the loss to TKA. Despite the loss, Gibson played a solid game! Boykin may have missed the NBA 3 to tie the game, but you have to believe that if she was one step closer, it was money. Gibson has great mechanics with a beautiful form! She’s a tough competitor and a scrappy defender! One great thing to leave this season on, Boykin will be back! Keep your eyes on this one!
Highlights
Yes, Kitchen led her team in scoring with 15 points. However, I am still impressed with the defense by Halle and the entire Cocke County team! In the game against Cumberland Gap, it was all Cocke County from start to finish. On 11/4 before the season started, I made a post that I was left impressed with this team’s style of play. I also stated that the entire team works non-stop on defense! The entire team still works non-stop on defense! Always remember what Bobby Knight said, “Good basketball always starts with good defense!” The entire team deserves credit for their outstanding defensive efforts! I’ll also add that Maryville College is getting a good one!
