This was a back and forth game in the first half, Henry Clay started out in a full-court press on defense and played an up-tempo style on offense trying to speed up Whitefield and force them to make mistakes. Whitefield Academy played smart and did a good job controlling the pace, sticking with their half-court style of play. They also played a 1-3-1 defense that bothered Henry Clay and made it hard for them to get anything in the paint, the game was tied up 23-23 at the half. Henry Clay made adjusments during halftime and improved their ball movement, spacing and outside shooting, which led to 9 straight unanswered points to start the 3rd quarter. Henry Clay had a comfortable lead in the fourth quarter and ended up sealing the deal with a big win on senior night 51-40.
