Here is a look at four prospects from Shawnee Heights who excelled during the league victory over the Bears.

[player_tooltip player_id='827737' first='Reianna' last='Vega'], 5'11”, PF, Shawnee Heights, ‘26

Vega had the most impressive performance in the T-Birds win. She is long and athletic. She finished tied for the team lead in points with 12. She shot 6-of-8 from the field and cleaned the boards for a team-high six rebounds. Vega has a big reach and is bouncy. I would like to see her add some upper-body strength if she wants to dominate in the post at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='822748' first='Kaydence' last='Torrez'], 6'1”, C, Shawnee Heights, ‘25

Torrez is the “sixth man” on the Shawnee Heights squad and is currently ranked No. 129 in the Class of 2025. She is a solid passer and likes to score in transition. She finished with 12 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the floor. Torrez also added three steals and four rebounds to her stat line. She is currently ranked No. 129 in the Kansas Class of 2025. I would recommend her to any NAIA or JUCO coach looking for 2025 talent. I feel like she needs to add upper-body strength and look to score more if she wants to get offers from Division II schools.

[player_tooltip player_id='815507' first='Rachel' last='Swift'], 6'1”, C, Shawnee Heights, ‘24

Swift is a long front-court scorer. She was coming off a game earlier in this week in which she scored a career-high 15 points. Maybe she wanted to share the wealth in this game, as she only took five shots, but converted on three of those for six points. She is currently ranked No. 223 in the Kansas Class of 2024. She added two blocked shots and two rebounds in the win. She has had discussions with JUCO coaches, but to this point has not committed.

[player_tooltip player_id='862393' first='Audrey' last='Schulte'], 5'6”, CG, Shawnee Heights, ‘24

Schulte was the best shooter for the Thunderbirds against the Bears. She canned two 3-point field goals and finished with 10 points shooting 4-of-5 from the field. She has a pure jump shot and takes good care of the ball. She can run the point or play the “two.” What she lacks in height she makes up for with hustle and a high basketball IQ.
