The Regional playoffs have provided a little of everything. Some down to the wire classics, some upsets, and even some dominant performances as well. A lot of players have also been very productiove in the Regional playoffs. In this article, we look at some of the guards who had marvelous performances in the Regional playoffs. some of these players delivered these performances, but were on the shor end odf ghe scoreboard.

[player_tooltip player_id='656075' first='Ashlyn' last='Young'] scored 27 in one playoff game and 26 in a Regional matchup against Providence. Young was a force this season averaging 16.5 points per game. She is an elite scorer who can score at all levels. Young has been standing out all season and took it up a notch in the high school playoffs. Sher has a versatile game and can play multiple positions on offense and on defense. She stands out in the transition on the offensive end and the defensive end. Young has great quickness and is very good at defending against the fastbreak in transition.

[player_tooltip player_id='805961' first='Jazlynn' last='Curtis'] was a standout in the Regional finals and her team came up a little short. Curtis is one of the most physical point guards on the First Coast and she caused a lot of problems on both ends of the court. Curtis got to the rim throughout the contest and showed she could penetrate against a zone or man to man defense. Curtis handled the ball well and really controlled the pace of the offense for her team. As a Sophomore, she was more than up for the challenge on both sides of the ball. Curtis played an in your face defensive style and she was anble to frustrate her opponent throiughout the game.

[player_tooltip player_id='633526' first='Kamela' last='Marshall'] (cover) had some really good standout moments in the Regional playoffs and was instrumental in University Christian getting to the final four in Lakeland. Marshall is a versatilie player with good size. She can get to the rim and she has no problem battling for rebounds against the bigs as well. Marshall has a nice midrange game and she can also pull the three pointer. She is a crafty finisher in transition and can finish with the left or right hand. She also has a nice floater that she uses in transition and on the offensive end.

[player_tooltip player_id='248551' first='Alanna' last='Tatum'] has been the glue all season and she was again throughout the Regional playoffs. Tatum scored well and provided the early spark in the Regional Finals. What separates Tatum apart is her athleticism and her commitment to shutting down an opponent on defense. She has had success against some major opponents and has defintely earned their respect. Tatum is one of the top defending guards in the 2026 class. She has great north and south speed and great lateral movement. She also has a vertical jump that is on an elite level. Offensively, Tatum can get to the rim and convert the layup with a high degree of difficulty. She can also hurt a team from her favorite midrange spots and from behind the three point line, where she shot threes at a 40 percent rate this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='470458' first='Dakara' last='Merthie'] had avery great performance against Colonial, burt came up short in the win column. The sophomore guard knocked down a three pointer and scored 11 times inside the arc at a 79 percent rate. Merthie has a smooth release and can also shoot it from deep. The guard gets after it on the defensive end, recently, recording 5 steals in a regional playoff game.

[player_tooltip player_id='221679' first='Cameron' last='DeCosta'] played well in the Regional playoffs. Decosta who has been known in the past for her three poinjt shooting, really showed a lot of versatility in her game. She got in the paint on some tough drives to the basket and converted on the left and on the right. Decosta also did a good job of handling the ball and making plays for her teammates. Defensively, she showed a lot of toughness on the ball and did a good job getting ionto the passing lanes.
