Continue ReadingThe PG, Annie Priest Annie Priest 5’7″ | SG Farragut | 2025 State TN is rounding back into full health, and her Farragut club is beginning to stack big wins together, and are now sitting at 5-0 in the district (tied with a school that’s also pretty good called Bearden). It’s apparent that Priest is one of those players who’s value is worth far more than simply the measurable stats (which are also really good by the way–and she went for 15 and 6 assists on Tuesday night). Farragut is only two games over .500, but their strength of schedule is tremendous, and they’ve got the talent to be really dangerous.

McNealy is the “x” factor for Farragat. She scored 14 points and pulled 8 rebounds in limited minutes vs Maryville Tuesday. McNealy, only a ’26, is the type player that has shown flashes of being talented enough to get hot and win you a quarter…or win you a half. Defensively, she can clamp you down, and is one of the best rebounding wings in the state (remembers….she had a 20 rebound game earlier this year). You hope that every team is playing their best basketball come playoff time–and you gotta hope Farragut is playing fully health roster playing their best ball.
When Farragut can put Annie Priest Annie Priest 5’7″ | SG Farragut | 2025 State TN , KJ McNealy KJ McNealy 6’0″ | SG Farragut | 2026 State TN , and Jaci Neubert Jaci Neubert 5’5″ | PG Farragut | 2025 State TN together on the floor, they have the makings of a really well rounded team on both ends. Neubert has been a really solid two way player for Farragut, and has show realy flashes as a scorer and playmaker of the bounce. She plays with a grittiness on the defensive end that is rare. Neubert is just a winner…
Channing Jones Channing Jones 6’0″ | SF Kirkwood | 2027 TN , 2027, has been a sneaky good freshman for a really young Kirwood HS team. Jones came into the season with a big-time travel ball reputation, and has just built on that. She’s a slithery scorer that is able to find angles to the rim other guards can’t see. She plays with a fantastic intuition as a playmaker attacking the rim…as she continues to learn the correct reads once she get’s a “paint touch”, her game will continue to flourish. Really high upside kid.

In 4A, I think everyone is hoping that someone will challenge Bradley. There are only a handful of teams with a legit shot of beating Bradley head to head, and Bearden is one of those teams (18-1, 5-0). In Tuesday’s win, she had a cool 17 points and 9 rebounds.
Murphy is the type of player that gives them a real shot at a special season, because she’s a special role player. Hodge is the heart and soul, but players like Murphy have always made Bearden great. Murphy is continuing to averaging 15 points, be a threat from 3 levels…but more importantly…is still averaging around 8 rebounds a game. Give me a guard that’s looking to go pick a fight on the defensive glass, and I’ll likely show you a winner. Kendall Murphy is a winner.

Saylor Clay Saylor Clay 5’7″ | PG Washburn | 2025 State TN had herself a day!! In a Tuesday night win, Clay scored 38 points and set the Washburn HS school record for 3’s in a game (12!). Clay has been mentioned several times by PGH as being one of the top tier shooters in the state….and a night like this was bound to happen eventually.

Congrats to Kelsey Holt Kelsey Holt 5’9″ | SF Union Co. | 2025 State TN as she had a huge night both individually, and in school record books. On the same night that she scored 19 points and pulled 9 rebounds (typical Holt stats), she also surpassed 1,000 points for her career!! AND…on the same night, she became her schools all time leading three point shooter. Congrats kiddo on a special night, and special career.

What a tremendous sign for Upperman! Gracie Butler Gracie Butler 5’8″ | SG Upperman | 2026 State TN is really coming into her own as the ’26 led the Lady Bees in scoring again. Upperman is always in the conversation coming down the stretch, and this team seems hard wired for a deep run with the way the compete so well on both ends. Upperman will gets stops…and ultimately they will need shot makers…and Gracie Butler Gracie Butler 5’8″ | SG Upperman | 2026 State TN is a shot maker.
***There is a difference between “shot takers” and “shot makers.”***

Kill ’em Kam! Worth mentioning that Kami Wilson Kami Wilson 5’11” | SG Lakeway Christian Academy | 2025 State TN dropped 39 points on TKA last Thursday. Then scored 27 points in a loss to Grace (Knox) on Friday, and followed that up with 24 versus CAK on Tuesday in a loss. Wilson is clearly one of the best scorers in the state…and now Lakeway must figure out how to turn that into wins (a really tough task given their schedule).
