Bridgeport High School is coming off of another season where they showed their dominance each and every night. A big reason for their success is because of Senior Guard, Olivia Loomis-Goltl Olivia Loomis-Goltl 5’10” | PG Bridgeport | 2024 State NE . Goltl has been a steady producer for this program over her past four years. She is a prospect that has a quick handle, soft touch, knowledge of what to do when, and fast feet. She is always someone that is willing to sacrifice her body without looking for praise or acknowledgement from her teammates. She just wants the prospects around to be successful. At the next level, I have a feeling that Goltl is going to be able to step into that Northern Colorado program and produce but we will have to wait and see. For now she is going to end her high school career in the #5 spot for this 2024 Class and that’s nothing to be ashamed of.
Inia Jones Inia Jones 5’7″ | PG Omaha Central | 2024 State NE is a baller, has been a baller, and will be a baller when she gets to Bradley next season. Jones is may be the most athletic pound-for-pound prospect out of this Class, not to mention her pure skill and natural ability. When I first had the chance to sit down and watch Jones a few years ago, I was impressed and ever since then, she has kept up her production at a high rate. Doesn’t matter if it’s on the high school Varsity floor or if it’s on the travel scene, she makes plays happen and she plays with A TON of energy every possession. I’m not too sure of what Bradley has coming back this Winter but if they need a Guard, who is almost un-guardable in the open court, Jones might be that commit to come in and make a difference.
I had my questions prior to this high school season about Doneelah Washington Doneelah Washington 6’1″ | C Lincoln Northeast | 2024 State NE ‘s game but she put all of those to rest theses past few months. Washington has that combination that coaches love. She has natural size, soft hands, coordinated footwork, and a physical demeanor when she catches in the paint with her back to the basket. Every time that her team got her in a 1v1 situation this Winter, she thrived. Honestly, she also thrived even when two players would come to double, demonstrating really how unstoppable she can be. Over her past 3-4 years, her game has grown and her skill has expanded. If she can continue to work on her weaknesses and her team’s offense suits her play-style, then she is going to put up some big numbers over the next four seasons at Illinois State. In this Update though, she holds onto our #3 spot for this 2024 Class.
Watching McKenna Murphy McKenna Murphy 5’11” | SG Elkhart North | 2024 State NE score the basketball is an art form. She is meticulous in her attempts for the floor, while always seeming to be able to get whatever shot she wants off. The past two seasons, Murphy and Britt Prince Britt Prince 5’11” | PG Elkhorn North | 2024 State NE have put on a show. They ended their careers as State Champions and no one is going to ever be able to take that away from them. Murphy’s best ability is shooting the rock but I think that at the next level, she is going to adapt and grow into a bigger role. Sure she will always be able to let it fly and that will get her to see the floor but she is going to be able to stay on the floor because of her defense. As a prospect she has size, great coordination, and footwork. She understands her role within her team and she never seems to force unnecessary action on either side of the ball. She has demonstrated that she can recover if ever beaten off the dribble, while having some active hands. I’m excited to see what unfolds for her career these next few years. Just like everyone else in this article, if she is put in the situation to make a play and do her thing, she will be successful.
What can I say about Britt Prince Britt Prince 5’11” | PG Elkhorn North | 2024 State NE that hasn’t already been stated this past season? Nothing. Prince has been the #1 ranked player for this 2024 Class out of Nebraska for a reason. She is a difference-maker in every sense of the word and she never has a ball game where she doesn’t show up. She may not have the best shooting night or the best game while going toward the rim but she ALWAYS makes her presence known. Prince has had such a successful high school career, I would venture to say that she may of just put together the best high school career in the history of girls basketball in the State of Nebraska. I’m sure that there are others who have made their mark but Prince’s production is second-to-none. I’m excited to see what she can do at the next level with the Corn Huskers. She is going to be competing for playing time right away under Coach Williams and I’m sure she will see the floor in her Freshman year. As for right now though, she will stand supreme as the best prospect out of this 2024 Class.
