Zamareya Jones can officially call herself a state champion, and she earned Most Outstanding Player honors while competing for the title. She has been having an exceptional high school career, and this year has been no different with her ability to make shots from deep. She creates space for herself, and she has a way of getting to the rim with her shifty ball handling that is sure to result in some points. She doesn’t back down on defense being able to pick the pocket of her opponents, and she smartly finds a teammate to hit in stride cutting up the court, or she takes it all the way herself.
Molly Burns went through her senior season with a vengeance making sure her opponents feared playing against her. She handles the ball well knowing how to control the tempo, and she moves without the ball to get the open look and put up her nice shot from deep. She attacks the basket getting to the rim with ease, and she creates plays for her teammates, too, opening up the court with her drives.
Highlights
Sheree Gidney has been a dominant presence in the paint her whole high school career. She goes to battle for some rebounds, and she does well sealing off her opponents to get the entry pass and bucket. This season, she expanded the floor even more popping out around the perimeter and showing off her range shooting the ball. She was making nice passes up the court off of steals or rebounds finding her teammates cutting to the basket on fast breaks.
Highlights
Jianna Holmes plays excellent on both ends, and she maintains the same composure throughout any game. She knows how to slow down offenses for set plays, and she can push the tempo getting the ball up the court for some fast breaks. She creates her own space making shots all over the court off the dribble. She’s a nuisance on defense, too, playing tough against her opponents making it difficult for them to get by her.
