Layla Barnes Layla Barnes 6'2" | C Blue Valley | 2025 State KS , 6’2″, C, Blue Valley – Barnes will be one to watch develop in the upcoming year. While still quite raw her size, athleticism and near 30″ vertical make her a formidable rim protector. As her skill set grows she could move up the ranks quickly from her debut spot at #97. Barnes earned Eastern Kansas League honorable mention.
Abby Proctor Abby Proctor 5'11" | PF Hesston | 2025 State KS , 5’11”, PF, Hesston – Proctor had a breakout season punctuated by great play in the Swathers’ 3A close state championship loss to Silver Lake. She poured in 26 points and collected 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 steal. Going 3/5 from three point land she scored over Eagle bigs several times off the catch, finished in transition, and off jumpers in the mid-range. Athletic with good length she has hops, length, a soft touch around the basket and transition speed. She quickly made a statement for being one of the top players in the class. Debuting a #107 the Central Kansas League honorable mention selection is just getting started.
Samantha Klotz Samantha Klotz 5'9" | PF Royal Valley | 2025 State KS , 5’9″, PF, Royal Valley – Klotz is a lengthy, active shot blocker with great and quick hops. A multi-sport athlete Klotz also has good strength and and transition speed. Klotz joins at #115.
Megan Trout Megan Trout 5'10" | PF Scott City | 2025 State KS , 5’10”, PF, Scott City – Trout was really good in sub-state win at Buhler. She posted up effectively and showed a quick up and under move to get a shots. Trout also was effective rebounding on the defensive end. She has a good base with length, decent hands and is active working in the half court. The latter enables her to score well in traffic. Watch for her to pick up an extra lateral step and improve in the free throw department in the upcoming year. Great West Activities Association honorable mention selection enters at #135.
Da’naysia Smith Da’naysia Smith 5'9" | PF Wichita South | 2025 State KS , 5’9″, PF, Wichita South – Smith has some real potential. She has a big build with good strength. Smith collects and gathers rebounds well and has enough speed and quickness to play at the top of the Titans’ zone press. In the sub-state final against Washburn Rural she could be found defending any of the five positions. I need to see more of her boxing out and range of scoring abilities. Smith, a Greater Wichita Athletic Association honorable mention selection, debuts at #143.
Brenn Stanley Brenn Stanley 5'10" | C Colby | 2025 State KS , 5’10”, C, Colby – Strong, active and with good length Stanley has good hands and is very effective at getting into position to snag offside offensive rebounds. She can score on the block post-up. Stanley competes well on the defensive end but needs improvement in keeping contact with opposing posts in the screen game. Stanley, a Great West Activities Association honorable mention selection, enters at #169.
