The curtain has fallen on the 2023-24 girls' basketball season, and we witnessed probably one of the most entertaining state tournaments we could see in Green Bay this past weekend. I want to get these All-Tournament teams out as quickly as possible, so let's start with D5, D4, and D3 in this article. I'll have five players in each team, then a sixth as an MVP of the tournament.

D5

MVP: [player_tooltip player_id='448295' first='Abby' last='Hollis'] (Albany/Monticello)

She may not have shot the ball the best she ever has in both games, but Hollis rose to the occasion to get her team a gold ball. With the game in the balance and her team down three, Hollis hit a step-back three-pointer to send the game into overtime, where she hit the go-ahead three to earn Albany-Monticello a gold ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='767273' first='Eva' last='Brooks'] (Lena)

There may not have been a kid who turned more eyes than [player_tooltip player_id='767273' first='Eva' last='Brooks'] at the Resch Center. Albeit in a losing effort, Brooks' title game was one of the books. The Wildcat scored 21 points, grabbed 19 rebounds, blocked four shots, and dished out two assists. She was the most impressive player in D5 and would be the MVP if it weren't for Hollis' heroics.

[player_tooltip player_id='842247' first='Madi' last='Thomson'] (Lena)

Thomson was a consistent performer for the Wildcats in both of her games. She consistently made shots, scored in double figures in both of Lena's games and recorded a 12-point and 11-rebound double-double in the Wildcats' semifinal game.

[player_tooltip player_id='874373' first='Brooke' last='Wellnitz'] (Argyle/Pecatonica)

Wellnitz may not have scored as much as anyone else on this team, but she defended at a high level and rebounded at an elite level. Wellnitz grabbed 17 rebounds in the Orioles' semifinal game. That was over half of what their opposition, Albany/Monticello, earned the entire game.

Dalana Trumpy (Albany/Monticello)

Trumpy played a massive role in the Comets comeback at the end of regulation and overtime. Her effort created extra possessions, and even after missing two free throws to tie the game in overtime, Trumpy got her own rebound and scored to tie the game up. Plays like that won the Comets a state title.

Alana Durtschi (Albany/Monticello)

The Comets senior didn't score the ball as well as she had this season, but she dished out seven assists in the title game and scored eight points. Anytime the Comets something to happen, it started with Durtschi.

D4

MVP: [player_tooltip player_id='342096' first='Tierney' last='Madigan'] (Laconia)

Madigan scored 20 points in the Spartans semifinal game against The Prairie school but played differently against Cuba City. Her shot may have fallen as much as she would've liked, but she led her team in assists, grabbed six rebounds, and excelled on the defensive end of the floor.

Callista Vande Berg (Laconia)

If it weren't for Vande Berg's 11-point, 12-rebound double-double, there is no chance the Spartans would've repeated as D4 champions. The senior even knocked down a pair of threes in the early going of the title game, which got the Spartans offense rolling after having extreme struggles on that end of the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='374228' first='JJ' last='Glass-Barnes'] (The Prairie School)

The junior from The Prairie School was as good at getting two feet in the paint as anyone. She was the co-leading scorer in the Hawks semifinal matchup with Laconia and nearly earned a double-double, tallying nine rebounds.

[player_tooltip player_id='374234' first='Olivia' last='Olson'] (Cuba City)

Nobody was as integral to what their team did in D4 as [player_tooltip player_id='374234' first='Olivia' last='Olson']. She was the best creator in D4. Olson averaged five assists in her two games and had a shot to win the Cubans a state title, but came up short. Her 22 points in the semifinal helped the Cubans get to that title game.

[player_tooltip player_id='914523' first='Ashley' last='Rowe'] (Cuba City)

Rowe made the play that sent the Cubans to the state title game. After a deflected pass from Dea Crista, Rowe ran down and finished a tough layup that gave the Cubans a lead they wouldn't give up. Rowe also scored 11 points in the semifinals and title game.

[player_tooltip player_id='751257' first='EllaMay' last='Cooper'] (McDonell Central Catholic)

Cooper made a name for herself in the one game she played at the Resch Center. The freshman finished with 18 points and five rebounds and got by her defender off the dribble whenever she wanted. Her creativity with the ball in her hands drew the eyes of anyone in the Resch Center on Thursday night.

D3

MVP: [player_tooltip player_id='764918' first='Anna' last='Miller'] (Edgewood)

Nothing Miller does will wow anyone, but she makes plays whenever she's on the floor. In a few memorable performances in the semifinals and finals, her second half in the title game was special. She scored 18 2nd half points and led her team to a narrow win after trailing by eight heading into the locker room.

[player_tooltip player_id='751258' first='Elle' last='Krull'] (Xavier)

Although Krull came off the bench, her role in Xavier's semifinal win against Kettle Moraine Lutheran can't be understated. She scored six points in 30 seconds to flip that game upside down and scored 20 points in 24 minutes in that semifinal win.

[player_tooltip player_id='448257' first='Makenzie' last='Luehring'] (Kettle Moraine Lutheran)

Xavier had no answer for [player_tooltip player_id='448257' first='Makenzie' last='Luehring']. She scored 32 of her team's 52 points and did it on 11/24 shooting. She got anything she wanted on the offensive end of the floor, and if it weren't for Krull's heroics, the Chargers would've played for a D3 state title.

[player_tooltip player_id='209589' first='Taya' last='Fernandez'] (Edgewood)

Fernandez's leadership was crucial for the Crusaders, and we saw it when she went out of the title game in the first half with foul trouble. I haven't seen a kid not make a shot from the field but be as influential to everything their team does quite like Fernandez.

[player_tooltip player_id='914305' first='Erin' last='Schauer'] (Edgewood)

The 5-10 wing was the defensive ace for the Crusaders and was an excellent scoring option outside of the guards. She found herself in good positions for Fernandez and Miller to find her and made plays. Her 14 points and seven rebounds were massive in the title game.

Carsyn Stempa (Xavier)

Stempa had a solid performance in the title game, scoring 16 points, which led the Hawks. However, her defensive prowess was evident in that game. She earned four steals, and those resulted in immediate points for Xavier.
