Bri Young Bri Young 5’11” | PF Bloomfield Hills | 2025 State MI is an explosive guard for Bloomfield Hills who has the game breaking ability to cause havoc with her quick and aggressive defense, while also bursting through defenses on her way to the rim. She dominated in the semis with 26 pts and will need to be efficient on both ends for the Blackhawks to win the district title.
Merrick Schwalbach Merrick Schwalbach 5’7″ | SF Stoney Creek | 2025 State MI led Stoney Creek in scoring with 13 points in the semis on Wednesday. She is a tough driver with excellent vision to see the floor and has accurate multi-level shooting ability. Merrick uses her quickness to cut off guards and will be relied upon to contribute on both ends tonight. The Cougars are 2-0 this season against Rochester, winning by a combined 3 points. Merrick will be a key factor in the outcome of this game.
Sarah Rekowski Sarah Rekowski 6’3″ | C Hartland | 2024 State MI is back in the lineup for the Hartland Eagles after missing most of the season due to a knee surgery. The 6’3 forward is a force inside rebounding and finishing in the paint. Hartland is 2-0 against Howell this season and Sarah will add another size advantage for the Eagles in game #3. She will be a challenge to contain because she gets the advantage over defenders in the low/high post. She is an efficient rebounder and will be a tough assignment for anyone to stop inside.
Highlights
Brooklyn Covert Brooklyn Covert 5’7″ | CG Clarkston | 2027 State MI is a freshman who impacts games on offense and defense for Clarkston. She has the quickness and anticipation to cause havoc for opposing ball handlers (5 steals against Oxford). Brooklyn made one of the best plays this season against Haslett when she drove full court through a press to hit the game winner. With Robak missing time she will be counted on to set up the offense and hit clutch shots for the Wolves. Clarkston and Lake Orion split this season and the district final should be a thriller to watch.
Christina Dixon Christina Dixon 5’10” | SG Haslett | 2026 State MI has athleticism that excites the crowd when she takes the floor for Haslett. Her clutch outside shooting and finishing against Chelsea were crucial to the Vikings advancing to the district final. Williamston defeated Haslett twice this season and if the Vikings are going to flip the script they will need Christina to use every skill in her arsenal on both ends of the court tonight.
Bella Sapia Bella Sapia 6’0″ | PG Livonia Steven | 2026 State MI has been an emerging standout sophomore wing for Livonia Stevenson and is a producer in every area for her team. She is an effective rebounder/rim protector with finishing moves and scoring efficiency. Bella contributed 10 points in a close win Monday and if she can win the battle inside for the Spartans they could be cutting down nets tonight.
