Expert Analysis
Evan Bell | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Christina seems to always step up for Haslett in the playoffs, and she delivered another gutsy effort in the Regional Semifinal against Tecumseh. Christina flashed through the paint, caught the pass clean, and used an excellent step-through to score with her left. She shook a defender with a shifty double-crossover dribble, blew by, then sent the team into a frenzy with a strong and one finish. She completed the three-point play at the line. Christina’s aggressive drives and basket cuts resulted in many free throws. She knocked down seven from the charity stripe. Christina side-stepped a defender using a euro-step after a crossover to score another layup and buried a mid-range jumper off a step back. She led Haslett in scoring both halves, finishing with a team-high 17 points.

Christina is a prospect who comes through in big moments. She steps up during adversity and makes an impact on both sides of the ball. Christina scores at all three levels and is particularly effective at penetrating gaps with her downhill speed. When she gets to the basket, Christina can finish from difficult angles. Christina was a Player of the Year Finalist as a junior, and we’d be excited to have her at The Expo.

After a slow first quarter, Haslett awakened to roar back against Muskegon at The Platform on Saturday. Christina was crucial to their comeback as she attacked downhill to score layups, drilled a corner 3, and converted a sweet reverse layup in traffic. played against one of the best teams in Division 2 on Monday and garnered much attention from the Cougars defenders. Against very skilled defenders, Christina was still able to drive with quick bursts and convert tough finishes at the rim. She led the Vikings scoring 12 pts, knocking down a 3 and added 2 steals with a block on the defensive end. Christina has impressed me with her athleticism, competitiveness, and scoring abilities this season. She left an impression on spectators in the stands and will be a prospect to watch this off-season.
