Here’s a look at the best of the best from the two NJSIAA non-public South Jersey sectional final games.
Gabby Vaughn – Paul VI (2026)
A player to keep an eye on for the remainder of her high school career, Vaughn was a bright spot in a blowout loss for Paul VI in the Non-Public A final against Red Bank Catholic. She drained a trio of three-pointers, finishing with nine points in the loss. She ended her first year with Paul VI on a high note, hitting six threes over her final two games of the season.
Tessa Carman Tessa Carman 5'11" | PF Red Bank Catholic | 2025 State NJ – Red Bank Catholic (2025)
We like to highlight a number of standout performances, from top scorers to the best defenders and everything in-between. Carman wasn’t in the spotlight for her scoring in the sectional final, but instead, just about everything else. She finished with nine rebounds, four assists and three blocks for the Caseys, either leading or among the leaders in all three categories in the win.
Katie Liggio Katie Liggio 5'9" | SG Red Bank Catholic | 2026 State NJ – Red Bank Catholic (2026)
Liggio, like others in RBC’s massive Class of 2026, made some considerable strides as sophomores. She was definitely toward the top of that list, evolving into a supreme sharp-shooter for the Caseys. Monday’s sectional final win over Paul VI only helped to cement that further, hitting three as she finished with 11 points and three rebounds. She also reached 100 career three-pointers in the win.
Leah Crosby Leah Crosby 6'1" | SF Rutgers Prep | 2025 State NJ – Rutgers Prep (2025)
Rutgers Prep needed to come out with a bang to take care of business against St. Rose, and take care of business it did on Monday. Leading the charge was junior forward Leah Crosby Leah Crosby 6'1" | SF Rutgers Prep | 2025 State NJ , who recorded her sixth double-double of the season, a 10-point, 10-rebound effort with two assists, two steals and a block. The Argos won by 20 and Crosby did her thing, not letting anyone stop her.
Ava LaMonica Ava LaMonica 5'9" | PG Rutgers Prep | 2026 State NJ – Rutgers Prep (2026)
There has been improvement across the board for LaMonica and her Rutgers Prep teammates. Playing amongst the brightest of lights, she’s stepped up and become a dominant force on this team. Monday was no different, scoring 10 points along with three rebounds and two assists in a blowout win over St. Rose. She’s averaging double-figures for the first time in her career and has been a more confident, more complete prospect overall.
Cassidy Kruesi Cassidy Kruesi 5'6" | SG St. Rose | 2025 State NJ – St. Rose (2025)
Slowly but surely, Kruesi has worked her way up through the rungs of St. Rose’s roster, capping off her best high school season to date in the Non-Public B final against Rutgers Prep. She scored 12 points along with three rebounds and two assists, showcasing a bit of everything in her game. Her future is bright and we’re beyond excited for what her senior season will bring.
