Welcome back to the third edition of the film room, where we have four more players to dive into.

[player_tooltip player_id='874695' first='Addison' last='Betker']

I hadn't heard of the 2027 guard from Racine Park before working on this mini-series, but I have her name noted now, and here's why.

The main thing that jumps out with her is how she can pass the ball in tight quarters. In Betker's freshman campaign, she proved she could read defenses, make reads, and, most importantly, play with pace. Anyone can make quick passes getting downhill, but Betker was able to make those reads and not wait for passing lanes to open. Her pivot foot or a ball fake to move a defender is as crucial to what she does as anything.

Another aspect of her game that gets overlooked is her ability to finish with both hands around the rim. She doesn't try and force any inside-hand finishes when they aren't required, which signals that she's comfortable finishing with her off-hand and looking to score with her off-hand.

She has plenty of room to grow mentally and physically, but she could become among the most productive players in the Southeast Conference.

Addison's Film

[player_tooltip player_id='723017' first='Charley' last='Casey']

Whenever you have a 6-0 athlete who can move like Casey, there are plenty of tools to work with, and Casey has the skill to take a significant jump over the next two years.

The way that Casey uses her athleticism isn't like most because most of the time, we're talking about kids getting in transition and flying up and down the floor, which she can do. However, watching her use her force around the basket to rebound is as entertaining as anything on a basketball court.

Defensively is where I feel her calling card will be long-term. I've talked about her athleticism and strength at 6-0 and what she does on that end of the floor. She has a chance to be a unique kid. At her best, Casey can guard one through five against any team in the state and help her group end possessions by forcing a miss or getting the rebound to clear their lines.

On the offensive end, I feel she's had an excellent post coach at some point because she does have a solid feel for using her pivot foot and working to create space against some talented post players from the western part of the state. She's also got a floater that few people can contest because of how high she releases that shot.

[player_tooltip player_id='723017' first='Charley' last='Casey'] is a name I noted moving forward.

Charley's Film

[player_tooltip player_id='615460' first='Paige' last='Murphy']

It's rare to see a freshman take a conference by storm as [player_tooltip player_id='615460' first='Paige' last='Murphy'] did last season at Lakeside Lutheran.

Murphy won Capitol-North Player of the Year honors this season, and she was arguably the most challenging individual to slow down all season. Murphy getting to the basket and making three-pointers from professional range gave defenses fits. Her ability to get downhill is where all this starts, and she did that well. The 5-10 2027 guard isn't a straight-line driver. She's more of a finesse player. She can change directions multiple times on one drive, and that's something most kids aren't capable of containing.

Her ability to stretch the floor by making deep threes helps stretch the defense beyond the three-point line and opens up the floor for her teammates to attack. The biggest thing for her on that end of the floor is finding more consistency with her shot. If she becomes an upper-30s 3-point shooter, she takes this team to another level.

Paige's Film

Paige's Film

[player_tooltip player_id='749048' first='Ella' last='Sweeney']

Sweeney may be the most skilled kid in the 2027 class at this point.

She got to Appleton East and brought a level of poise that comes close to what Sammi Beyer brought the Patriots over her four years. Each time I've seen her play, I've felt that nothing a defense can do to throw her off her game and rush what she does.

Her offensive game is patient, balanced with scoring from the perimeter, getting to the rim, and creating for others. Her understanding of how to move a defense and create off the dribble creates space for her teammates. Since I've seen her play a handful of times, I've felt what she does makes the lives of her teammates easier. She's perfectly selfish and selfless. I don't often see her take shots she shouldn't or pass up shots she could take.

Her ceiling is all-conference in the FVA, and she's a scholarship-level talent. Defensively, she has room to grow, but she's smart enough where she'll improve as she ages and matures physically. The skill and IQ are there for her in abundance, and in three years, we'll be talking about her as one of the most entertaining guards in Wisconsin.

Ella's Film
